The Seven Six Drum Company Ambrosia Maple Steam Bent Solid Shell Gong Bass Drum

This 18×14 Gong Bass drum is a collaboration between a client of mine who owns two Seven Six Drum Co snares, Micah Doering , and Seven Six Drum Co. Dustin wanted a steam bent shell gong bass drum that that aesthetically matched one of his drum kits, so I hired Cask to build the shell. Dustin chose the lugs and asked for a finish that matched his current kit, so I did 6 coats of hand-rubbed semi-gloss oil. We did a dual 45 degree bearing edge with a roundover on the bottom. I spent a while getting the spacing engineering right on the lugs, and we used a 20 inch Remo Inc. Pinstripe tom head on this 18 shell.

This 18×14 Gong Bass drum is a collaboration between a client of mine who owns two Seven Six Drum Co snares, Cask Drumcraft, and Seven Six Drum Co.

Dustin wanted a steam bent shell gong bass drum that that aesthetically matched one of his drum kits, so I hired Cask to build the shell. The Seven Six Drum Company 7x13” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 3/5ths inch thick Leopardwood. Leopardwood is a very hard, exotic wood that comes from South and Central America. This shell has 45 degree offset bearing edges, and I topped it off with a crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. In keeping with the gold and black spots of a leopard, I washed the shell in black dye, then sanded it off to leave black dye deposits deep in the grain to bring out the leopard’s spots. Also, just like a leopard’s spots, this custom snare drum has a mix of gold and black hardware. I used 100% brass handmade lugs custom built for Seven Six Drums by ChampagneDrum in Canada. This custom snare drum has gold/brass diecast hoops, black nickel tension rods, brass Puresound 24 strand snare wires, a black nickel Independent Drum Lab throw off and butt plate, and EVANS Drumheads and Remo Inc. heads. This custom snare drum has a huge tuning range and can go from tight cannon to sensitive orchestral snare to fat deep snare.

The Seven Six Drum Company Louisiana Sinker Cypress II Custom Stave Snare Drum

This 7.25x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Louisiana Sinker Cypress staves. I topped it off with a crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. This custom snare drum has a huge tuning range and is a beautiful example of Sinker Cypress.
