Well let's see if I can answer all of the questions. 1st the city of New London didn't say we couldn't have Whopper down at the park, this was our decision. The main reason is the cost of putting on the whole event --- The price of heating fuel, insurance, the food, the beverages and entertainment. To keep it affordable we have tried to keep our prices in line so everyone could afford to come down. This will be the 49th year, that's a hell of a run --- most fundraisers don't last half that long. As for the prizes, yes we are a fish and game club. We support all of the outdoorsmen's activities. Out of 46 prizes this year 11 are fi****ms the the 35 other prizes cover fishing, archery, turkey hunt, camping and watching nature its self. All of the prizes are from Scheels. If you win something you don't want or need they will give you an in-store credit for whatever you want to buy. Yes, this is a fund raiser for the club. The money we raise goes back into the community. We support youth baseball and softball and the high-school football, basketball and trap teams. We donate to other outdoor organizations such as Walleyes for Tomorrow and others. We donate to families in need at Christmas also. As to where the prizes come from, we changed that a few years ago to buy them ourselves for the simple reason that we are in a small community and every business in town gets hit hard for donations. We are hoping our efforts helped the rest of the community in these hard economic times. This year the fishery part of Whopper will be at Johnny's Bait Shop right on the river. The second part is at our clubhouse. We have 80 acres of beautiful property that many from our city don't know about, even though we have been around for over 80 yrs. We want to show case the improvements we have made and are making. If there are anymore questions, feel free to contact us on messenger or stop out to the clubhouse we will be glad to answer all that we can.
Thanks for the support in the past and your continued support in the future.
