Memorial Day always carries a heavy feeling with it. For remembering. For gratitude. For honoring those who gave everything so we could gather freely around tables, laugh with friends, hug our children, live out our dreams, and enjoy the simple moments.
Seeing these little guys sharing our gelato— smiling, messy, carefree, and completely present—I can’t help but think how insanely precious are these moments. They are the very things generations before us protected for all of us.
I’ve said this a thousand times before that Sciascia is so much more than Confections. That we are about this crazy spark of life we’ve been given and savoring its every single morsel. I wish we could all pause today and remember those who lost their lives for the call of freedom. And all of us should wish with all our hearts that not one more soul is ever lost again because of humanity’s dark side.
It is also my wish that our little nook can be a place where you can come to slow down, reconnect, and make memories together. And if your day brings you through town, I hope you get the chance to come in for some gelato, macarons, chocolates, or just to spend some precious time together (we’re open until 5pm).
