Early Jan, Mid-week, Post Run off update, and FEES INCREASE. I don't fear monger. I dont believe in it. I present information based on knowledge. So here we go. Expect things related to the 2A community to get worse. The next 4 years at the very minimum supplies will continue to be scarce. Political parties who hold the majority, regardless of affiliation can and will push their agenda.
Ammo- 2 years according to industry experts to normalize(whatever the new norm is). This is affected by COVID-19, Raw Material Supplies and largely by the increase in demand and new gun owners.
Guns- Same issues. Different areas of the US are affected differently. Again, most popular semi-autos are generally a little harder to find, and the price has increased when you do. Supply and demand. I have talked to industry reps, gun manufacturer's and suppliers and they all are of the same opinion, which is hold on tight things are going tonget bumpy.
SHEEPDOG ARMS RELATED INFO:
Im only handling transfers right now. The time invested looking for a particular model for a client is counterproductive.
In regards to transfers, expect it to be a 2-week process on my end.
The process is this...
1. The gun comes.
2. I have to log it in the book.
3. I then have to contact the buyer to arrange a time to stop in and fill out the mandatory paperwork in order to submit to NICS for a background check.
4. The check goes in to NJ and currently as of yesterday there were 4600 checks in the que. The time frame for that is at least 5 NICS days. (They are also affected by COVID-19 and staffing issues. They are working around the clock, I personally know a few and they are working.)
5. The check comes back, I then have to contact the buyer again and within 30 days of the NICS approval arrange a mutual pickup and finish paperwork time or the process starts all over again.
This is time consuming. I dont mind answering texts, emails and DMs but please be patient. Time is money.
Additionally regardless of your personal beliefs of COVID, I am limiting to one person a day for transfers. Due to the location of SDA I take extra precautions, to keep everyone healty and working.
So, when you do come for a transfer the requirements are non-negotiable.
1. Bring a mask and wear it.
2. Bring your own pen. Adults should always have a pen on them. (Even at my 9-5 this makes me mad)
3. I love taking shop, however time limits are 15 minutes at SDA.
4. Dress appropriately for the weather.
5. Bring copies of your FID and DL.
Due to the increse in time it takes to facilitate a transfer and to off-set the cost of the Handgun NICS check($15 to $16) fees will increase from $40 including NICS to $50 including NICS. Each additional gun is $5.
Those who have guns here waiting for pickup those fees wont apply. Any new transfers it will.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
