Hello friends! Want to let you know that there is a Quilt Show being held in Hartford City today and tomorrow. I will have three pieces showing in the event. It is at the Lighthouse Church Annex and I will drop more details in the first comment below.

It’s been a busy spring and summer on a personal level. Completed several pieces for my own enjoyment, took a couple of pattern classes, attended retreats, met Eleanor Burns and Rob Appell (nationally known quilters) and did a memorial pillow to help a friend. At this point I’m not sure that I will participating holiday craft events to close out 2025, which I am at peace with. Personal health and joy are returning and may lead to sporadic vending in 2026, but that is still just a thought at present.

Have you heard about the Incredible event that is going to come to Indiana in May??? No not that race in Indianapolis. This is an All Indiana Quilt Shop Hop! It’s the first one ever in our state and will start May 1st and end June 30th. 60 full days to shop at Quilt shops all over out great state.

To find out how many and which shops are participating, contact your nearest Quilt Shop and get the Passport Magazine that details all the places to go, special hours, and even 6 patterns. Oh did I mention that there are prizes involved!! You should check it out and have fun exploring Indiana.

I have begun doing a bit of charity work with LifeStream in Yorktown Indiana. These are shots of Fidgit mats for their group to distribute. Serving several Central Indiana Counties, LifeStream provides assistance to shut-ins, care facility patients and aging citizens in need of support. They love to have volunteer help in many different areas for meeting the communities needs.

First craft of this rainy, blustery day. Macrame seems like such a lost art to me, but the flame still lives!!

I applied a little spray starch to this piece to help it hold a form, kinda like hair spray for styling.😉🫶

I have to admit, today is the first time I have actually read the narratives in a new quilt pattern book. For years I have purchased beautiful pattern and design books, thimbed through them to follow a specific block construction, and then put it away when the project was done. The histories, feelings, inspiration they contained was ignored because I had a deadline and wanted a quick finish for the effort.

Wow I have been missing soooo much by that “quick” solution or just get it put away behavior. I will take more time to slow down and absorb the beauty of the author’s words before diving into blocks, templates and projects. 😁😉
