Lock 17 -8.19ft and holding ( which is average) water Temp is 79° and the Dam is in so it moving nice and slow)

Can still get back in the bay, the pocket and most back waters...
Channel Catfish and Flatheads are hitting,
Northern, Striped Bass and Large Mouth are biting

We have worms!

We'll open up from 5pm-7pm Monday - Thursday this week and normal schedule for the weekend.

There's been lots of customers saying they haven't been able to buy worms anywhere lately. My work schedule will only allow so much but I'll be able to have the store open in the evenings if anyone needs bait.
The fish are really biting and the river is about to be perfect this week and this weekend.

Shad, Shrimp, Chicken Livers also
Minnows aren't available until Thursday probably
D&J dip bait and Triple S Blood bait

Also have Hunting and Fishing Licenses!

Water is almost back to normal!!

Lock 17 - 10.2ft and flattening out just below 10ft
Water temp is 79°

Plenty of water to get around!

Nightcrawlers, Nitro Worms, Sm/LG Minnows, Frozen Shad, Bait Shrimp, Chicken Livers

The river is on its way down!

Lock 16 - 10.05ft and forecast shows a steady drop
Lock 17 - 11.63ft and falling. Water Temp in the channel is 73°
Lock 18 - 8.12ft and falling.

All pools are forecasted to be near average levels next week..
Crappie and Panfish are biting. Channel Catfish and Flathead have started to bite!! Walleye and Northern have been in the Bay. Large Mouth, Small Mouth. White and Striped Bass have been biting also!

Open 7am - 5pm tomorrow and Saturday!
7am - noon on Sunday and Monday!

The river is coming up and moving fairly quick, keep an eye for floating debris!

Lock 16 - 11.56ft and forecasted to slowly rise
Lock 17 - 12.56ft, forecasted to rise. Water Temp went from 71° down to currently 64°
Lock 18 - 8.7ft and coming up

Hunting and Fishing Licenses will be available

Reminder that it's not cool to liter, if you take it to river, bring it home with you and throw it away. And please avoid using glass on the beach!!

Sorry for the inconvenience, we've been closed recently because it's honestly hard to find time to work the bait shop and full time job (swing shift) at the same time. BUT! Should be good to go for a little bit anyways!

River Levels for Memorial Day weekend
Lock 16 - currently 10.4ft and forecasted to slightly come up a ft in the next week
Lock 17 - currently 11.7 and forecast for 12.5 next week Water Temp is 71 in Channel, 72-73 in the bay
You can get to the pocket
Lock 18 - was unavailable but similar, plenty of water and slightly coming up.

Look out for floating debris, some of the islands have been under so keep a look out.

Everything is biting - Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish. Northern, Largemouth, Small Mouth, Striped and white Bass are starting. Crappie have been hitting.

River Levels

Lock 16 - 11.7ft
Lock 17 - 13.08ft
Lock 18 - 9.45 ft
Just under flood stage in all pools. Water Temps are rising, near 50° in most areas. Lots of floating debris!

Some Bass, Striped Bass, Northern, Crappie and Channel catfish have been biting.
Farm ponds will be getting better as the water warms up.

Fall Firearm Deer Tag Lottery is currently open.

For those trying to get a Hunter's Safety Course, there is discussion about trying to get one organized this Summer and/or Fall. When more information becomes available, it'll be passed on.

Keep an eye for floating hazards! The water clarity is a bit dirty and it's moving fairly quickly but the fish are biting in some spots.
