🍫🚒 Sweet Support for Local Fire Companies! 🚒🍫

Thanks to community support of the Char-Val Candies Easter fundraiser, $6,000 was donated to our local volunteer fire departments, with $2,000 each presented to New Bethlehem, Hawthorn, & Distant Fire Companies.

👏 Ben & Amanda Carrico of Char-Val Candies emphasized the credit belongs to you, the community! As Dr. Ben Carrico shared, this donation was made possible by the people who supported the fundraiser.

❤️ Ashley Bish, Chairwoman of the New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company Fundraising Committee, called it a true community effort and expressed gratitude to everyone who purchased candy, along with the Carrico family and Char-Val employees.

📸 A special group photo included leadership from all three fire companies, the Ben Carrico family, Char-Val employees, New Bethlehem Mayor the Rev. Dr. Gordon Barrows, and community partners, all coming together to say thank you!

We are in the store the rest of the week cleaning and taking care of paperwork, so we decided to open for anyone who would like to stop in and shop. Prices are the same as during the Easter sale. We will be available 8:30-4:30 today, tomorrow, and Friday 🍫❤️

We still have a lot of options to choose from, especially if you like chocolate covered nuts - almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts, as well as our assorted nut boxes. Also caramel pecan eggs as well as options we don’t typically have for sale such as nougat, peanut butter bolsters (like a butterfinger), peanut butter pretzel puffs, and molasses chips!

Char-Val Candies hops into Easter with new owners

PORTER TWP. – First off, let’s address the chocolate elephant in the room:

Yes, Ben and Amanda Carrico, the new owners of landmark Redbank Valley business, Char-Val Candies, have heard every joke and comment about a dentist buying a chocolate shop.

“The irony of it all is not lost,” Amanda said of her husband Ben operating dental practices in New Bethlehem and Strattanville.

But their recent purchase of the longtime candy company did not take into account any dental-related concerns.

“Ben learned it was for sale, and he hated to see it possibly go away,” Amanda said, noting that they both grew up in the Redbank Valley area, continue to call it home, and wanted to see the Char-Val tradition carry on.

CharVal is pleased to be offering a three-week long Easter sale beginning on Saturday, March 14th and running through Saturday, April 4th. All store items will be reduced and sales will continue while supplies last, both in-store and online.
