WHY IS MY DRYER NOT HEATING?
Quick Troubleshooting Guide for Homeowners
⚡ 1. Power Supply Issues (Electric Dryers)

Dryers need 240 volts to heat (even if the drum still spins!)
A tripped breaker can cut heat but not power completely
Check your breaker panel and reset if needed

👉 Tip: Flip the breaker fully OFF, then back ON

🔥 2. Thermal Fuse Blown

A safety device that shuts off heat if the dryer overheats

What a gem of a find! We went to the outlet to find a new counter depth refrigerator to replace the one that came with our new home, as it was too small. We were greeted warmly, and handled with personal and professional care. The team came to install the new one the very next day. They removed our existing refrigerator and placed it in the garage, and then expertly installed the new one. They even showed me how to change the filters! Highly recommend!

I was looking for a dryer to purchase right away without all the extra fees. I am tired of big box stores. I went to Tidewater Appliance’s website. I found what I wanted and noticed the price was the same as any other competitor. That made me happy right away to know that a small business has the ability to compete. I noticed the chat window in the lower right corner of the page. I took a chance and asked questions. I was given a phone number I would receive a text from. Little did I know that it would be an actual human and not a bot messaging me. Very quickly I was able to match up a stackable dryer to my washer. I would have finished purchasing via the text if I had not have been so slow. Oh, this was all on Sunday evening while they are closed. By Monday morning I was on my way to the warehouse in New Bern to pick up my dryer. It works perfect!

Aaron arrived on time. He was friendly, polite and professional and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue with our dishwasher. He explained what had caused the issue and how he fixed it. Costs were reasonable. I'd recommend both Tidewater and Aaron.

Troubleshooting a Non-Working Icemaker
A non-working icemaker is one of the most common refrigerator issues, but in many cases, the fix is simple.
Before calling for service, it’s worth walking through a few basic troubleshooting steps.
First, check that the icemaker is turned on. Many units have a wire shut-off arm or a switch that can
accidentally be moved to the “off” position. If the arm is raised or the switch is off, the icemaker will not
produce ice.
Next, confirm that the refrigerator is getting water. A clogged or kinked water line can prevent proper flow.
Inspect the line behind the refrigerator and make sure the water supply valve is fully open. If your
refrigerator has a water dispenser and it’s not working either, this is a strong sign of a supply issue.
Temperature is another key factor. The freezer should be set between 0°F and 5°F. If it’s too warm, the
icemaker won’t cycle properly. Overloading the freezer or blocking vents can also affect airflow and
temperature consistency.
A frozen fill tube is another common problem. If water is unable to enter the icemaker because the tube is
blocked with ice, production will stop. Carefully thawing the tube can sometimes resolve the issue, but
recurring freezing may indicate a faulty inlet valve.
Finally, consider the age and condition of the water filter. A clogged filter can restrict water flow and reduce
or stop ice production. Replacing the filter regularly—typically every six months—helps prevent this issue.
If none of these steps solve the problem, the icemaker itself or the water inlet valve may need to be
replaced. At that point, professional service is recommended.
By following these simple checks, many icemaker issues can be identified and resolved quickly, saving both
time and unnecessary service calls.

Our new over-the-stove/under-cabinet microwave installation was not easy, and they could’ve bailed saying I needed a carpenter to make the cheap upper cabinet more secure, but they problem solved and added a couple of pieces of wood they had on their truck to make it work!
