A few months ago, these were just plans on paper.

Now, walls are up and windows are going in. Every day brings a little more progress and gets us a little closer to welcoming new residents into The Flats.

26 years ago, a group of Hernando residents started dreaming about a YMCA and now it's coming to life!

Tuesday, the YMCA unveiled renderings for the future 50,000-square-foot facility, featuring 4 exercise studios, a half-court multipurpose gym, childcare space, an indoor natatorium, and an outdoor water experience as large as the building itself.

YMCA announced groundbreaking is expected to begin in early fall.

Representatives from the YMCA, the Dan Maddox Foundation, the Delta Landing team, county officials, the Lions Club, and Hernando residents were there to see the plans revealed.
