My 3 non-negotiables: Freedom. Authenticity. Reciprocity. 🌼✨ Freedom to build a life I don’t need to escape from. Authenticity to show up exactly as I am. Reciprocity because I’m done pouring into people, places, and things that never pour back. Turns out building a business taught me a whole lot about building a life, too. 💛

Sometimes our content looks a little different—and that’s because no two events are the same. 🌱🌼

We customize our private events to fit the people, purpose, and experience behind them, and today was such a fun example! We were so glad to partner with Fostering Community for their Back-to-School event, where we created a hands-on planting station for the kids. Each child got to design their own pot, add the soil, plant a nasturtium, and take it home to watch it grow! 🌱

And the best part? Nasturtiums are edible! 🌼 That little fun fact sparked some pretty great conversations (and curiosity!) with the kids about flowers, growing, and even tasting what you grow. Flowers don’t always have to come in a bouquet.

Sometimes, they’re planted by tiny hands and taken home to grow. 💛 So grateful we got to be part of today!

Among all the coverage of the Menasha tornado relief efforts, I wanted to share a different perspective. This weekend I volunteered with Volunteer Fox Cities at the Planetarium, helping organize the incredible donations pouring in from our community. The donations came in just as quickly as they were being given back out. There were areas for canned goods, boxed food (my station), paper products, toiletries, garbage bags, hygiene items, and other everyday essentials. It looked like organized chaos—and honestly, it was. But it worked. We kept creating walkways so volunteers could move through the donations and “shop” for the families they were helping. There was plenty of water, snacks, and an endless willingness from complete strangers to do whatever needed to be done. Everyone naturally wants to see the aftermath of a tornado—the damaged homes, the fallen trees, the heartbreaking images. But behind every one of those stories are hundreds of people quietly sorting, lifting, organizing, delivering, and showing up for one another. I ended my weekend volunteering with Mile of Music Festival, where 10% of all merchandise proceeds were donated to . It was a reminder that helping a community recover doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes it’s sorting donations. Sometimes it’s supporting a fundraiser. Every act, no matter how big or small, helps carry a community forward. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to be a small part of both.

Three years ago, when Daisy’s Bloom Bar was just getting started, a friend reached out. They were having a last-minute backyard wedding and asked if I’d do their flowers. I said yes without hesitation. I only charged them for the flowers themselves. I donated my time, my design work, delivery, setup, and even brought Daisy at no extra charge because I wanted their day to be special. I also connected them with their photographer, cake vendor, and caterer—people I trusted and wanted to support. The wedding came and went. The payment never did. It was excuse after excuse… then eventually, silence. That experience completely changed how I run my business. It’s the reason deposits, contracts, payment deadlines, and policies exist today. They aren’t there because I don’t trust people—they’re there because I learned the hard way that passion doesn’t pay invoices. Every small business has a story like this. Unfortunately, this was mine. So here’s a little throwback to work I’m still proud of, even if the ending wasn’t. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned: people eventually reveal who they are. The work, integrity, and kindness always come back around. Karma has a way of keeping the books balanced.
