In Memory of Caroline Hamilton (1939–2026)

Caroline Hamilton was a true powerhouse in the miniature and dollhouse world. As co-founder of the London Dollshouse Festival in 1985, she helped create a standard of excellence that continues to shape our community today. Miniatures were her passion, and she believed deeply in doing them well. Her critiques were honest, her eye was sharp, and her guidance helped countless makers grow, even when it meant pushing them out of their comfort zone.

Caroline was also incredibly generous, often giving emerging artists their first opportunity to be seen. Long after her retirement, she still cared about the details that mattered, reminding us all that craftsmanship and presentation go hand in hand.

Beyond her influence on the craft, Caroline was a kind and thoughtful friend who will be deeply missed. The dollhouse world is better because of her, and it will not be the same without her.

Day three without power! God has blessed us with a gas fireplace that works, a stove I can cook on, hot water for showers! It is a solid sheet of ice here and all the beautiful trees are snapped and broken from the shear weight of the ice! Our electric service is overwhelmed trying to fix outages. You cannot drive down most streets for fallen trees! And My husband just had a knee replacement so I cannot let him on ice! But Bella and Charlie say hi from frozen Tennessee! We are hunkering down!
