🍓 Strawberries 🍓 oh, how we LOVE strawberries in our house!!
🍓 Fresh picked strawberries 🍓 have hit the 🥶 freeze dryer over the past 2 weeks! Each batch ran almost 60 hours!!😯🤯 "THE MACHINE" (yes, our freeze dryer has a name and there is a story behind it) has been working hard!! Waiting for more to hit the shelf at Wisely Greenhouse & Produce to keep up with stock!! If you haven't had strawberries from them, you're missing out! They're so sweet 😋

We are excited to share some amazing goodies we have been freeze drying and happy to finally share our favorite items with you!
Typically, freeze dried foods, such as MRE's, last up to 25 years for survival purposes, not all of which are tasty. Why not adding candy and treats to the mix!
These treats are lightweight and are great for parties, camping, hikes, traveling, emergency and most importantly... snacking!!!
We love the idea of food preservation and how the items we freeze dry form different textures and shapes. It creates much fun for kids and adults to enjoy trying new things!
A common question we receive, is if the caloric content still remains the same; yes it does and the foods hold it's original nutritional value!
Another question we receive is why "Bunker Bites," and funny enough, we have a nuclear bunker which was built during the cold war which we obtained to preserve a piece of history. We still have NO IDEA what we are doing with it, but the kiddos love riding there bikes down there during hots summer and cold winters since it stays temperature regulated. After purchasing, we decided to dabble in the prepper world and found you can preserve food up to 25 years with freeze driers!!
Here in Illinois, we can only sell certain items, such as candy and some fruit and vegetables, until we decide to take the leap to build a commercial kitchen to share more treats and goodies with YOU!
Stay tuned for this adventure! Once we take our leap of faith, we will share the construction of the commercial kitchen on YouTube and give a tour of a real nuclear bunker!
