One of my favorite young friends whose been coming into the shop since I opened (she’s 6 now) made this balloon for me about 6 months ago and it’s been in the window ever since but I think it maybe time to lay it to rest. RIP Mr balloon.

Well I’m going to sound weird here for a minute so bear with me; it’s Thursday and I’ve been taking Tues—Thursday off this month to pull back a little, so this morning I had a couple of Irish coffees to jump start the day and the sun was out so I decided to walk to the shop down the Salt Creek Trail to get some exercise and take a notebook back to the shop. When I get to the shop, there’s 2 boys and their mom who have visited the shop many times waiting at the front door so of course, I let them in to play. The timing was just too coincidental. I think maybe other powers might be guiding me these days, maybe. Anyway I walked back home and I’ll have some lunch and then drive in and open the shop for the afternoon. The picture is s good sized crawfish that was crossing the path on the trail this morning.

Well it’s with mixed feelings that I have decided that it’s time to sell my shop. I’m 73 and after looking at it from every angle imaginable, I’ve decided it’s time. Well today is the real “first” day of the new season here in Nashville. We made it through Jan and Feb and Spring breaks start this week so the new season has begun. I’ll be going back to at least 4 days a week so come on over to Brown County!

I've decided that for the rest of this month (Feb), the shop will go to weekends only (Sat and Sun), then when March gets here and spring breaks start, I'll go back to 4 or 5 days. Thanks.

Well finally some warmer temps are coming this week so hopefully some of this snow will melt.

Well with the town pretty much shut down this week and lots of time on my hands, I’ve been going over to the shop for a few minutes every afternoon to dig out. I might try to be open on Saturday but still not sure. It’s definitely January!

Well the weather down here in little Nashville looks pretty bleak for at least the next week so I’ll be taking it day by day. Best to call ahead if you’re thinking of coming to the train shop. Stay safe everyone!
