We have SO many amazing, good people who come into our store, and we are incredibly thankful for every one of you! ❤️
But unfortunately, we recently had one sh*tty person who decided to help themselves to a nearly $800 piece. 😡
Because of that one person, our display cases will now remain locked.
In the past, we’ve loved being able to let people freely open the cases, browse, and shop without having to ask us for help. We want our store to feel comfortable and welcoming, and we want you to be able to explore and enjoy everything. But unfortunately, this person got a little too comfortable.
And it sucks.
We’re a small business. When someone steals an $800 piece from us, we feel it. We’d love to believe everyone is good and that things like this won’t happen, but unfortunately, that’s just not reality. So from now on, if you’d like to see something inside one of our cases, just ask us! We’re always happy to help. 💕
While we’re on the subject, there’s something else we need to talk about.
In the 9 months we’ve been in our new location, we’ve had more pieces broken or damaged than we did in the entire four years we were in our old space.
We completely understand that accidents happen! They happen to us, too. We would never be upset with someone for genuinely having an accident. But unfortunately, a lot of what we’re seeing isn’t accidental — it’s carelessness and a lack of respect for things that don’t belong to you.
Our Intention Station is a perfect example. People fill jars and then leave them behind without purchasing them. Chips get spilled all over the floor and mixed into the wrong jars.
Someone even broke a huge point off of a very expensive piece. This wasn’t something that could have just accidentally happened — it would have taken some muscle and force to break it. And instead of telling us, they left it there without saying a word.
Things like this affect us. Financially, yes, but honestly, it’s also just really disheartening.
We put so much love, time, money and energy into creating a beautiful store where people can come in, wander around, touch things, explore, and find something that makes them happy. We don’t want to become a store where everything has to be behind glass and you’re afraid to touch anything.
So please, help us keep it that way.
Handle our pieces and our store with the same care you would give your own home and belongings. If you accidentally break or spill something, just tell us. We completely understand that accidents happen!
To the HUGE majority of you who already treat our store, our employees, and our pieces with kindness and respect — THANK YOU. Truly. You are the reason we love what we do.
And to the person walking around with our Libyan desert glass sphere…
Well, we hope you enjoy the sh*tty karma that came free with it. 😘
