We will be CLOSED for July 4th 😉 Safe holiday weekend wishes, all!

In case there was, y'know, any doubt or speculation at all regarding our operational status here at the NWSCC Bookstore tomorrow - there be the clarification to put your beautiful minds at ease and to plan accordingly 😉

Great time to wear NWSCC attire, too! I mean, our mascot is literally that of a Patriot and our school colors are red, white and blue. Might legit wear our new red "N" shirt by the pool 😎

On a serious note: All of your stories, all of your unique personalities, all of your voices, all your perseverance in overcoming obstacles and all of your diverse backgrounds, experiences and reasons for coming to NWSCC to aspire for personal greatness in hopes of a better tomorrow, well, friends, *that* is the American spirit we applaud, celebrate and embrace that inspires us, too. May you all always have the freedom - true freedom - to be yourself.

Mmmkay had to get a bit cheesy there but kinda feel it's important during these times to be so. Now, some light-hearted tidbits:

Our favorite 4th of July traditions and memories? For Angel, it's cooking out and spending time with family. For Jared, it's the opportunity to go swimming and maybe watch I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997). For Lydia, it's...um...well, let's just say fireworks are involved and leave it at that. But, "family time and cook-outs are good as well." 😏

Yep, we here at the Northwest Shoals Community College Bookstore store are inviting everyone who is or might be interested the opportunity to apply for the chance to join our team and, specifically, work with us for the upcoming Fall '25 semester rush.

I'll admit: We don't hire *too* often since I'm proud to say we keep a pretty consistent team here at the bookstore, so this is a rather rare but special opportunity to apply 😏

Of course the curator of this account is going to speak positively of working here and try to pitch that, right? But, honestly, I have no reason to pitch it otherwise, friends! ⚠️ Low stock alert! How does minimalist grey, grab ya'? Only a few left! Get while ya' can! 🩶☀️

We notice a lot really like grey tees! I guess a lot vibe with the minimalist coziness of it, to which the curator of this account fully supports. We admittedly don't have too many grey pieces in our collection right now, so get these while you can!

We still got some new merch pieces in the works and, rest assured, will absolutely be getting some more inclusive sizes, too, to support all beautiful body types - because all body types are beautiful. We got two 3XLs of these tees, by the way 🙌

Also, Jerome - our unofficial 4 worker here - embracing his man bun "hot boy summer" after backpacking through Joshua Tree and selling off his Disney Laserdisc collection and playing his ukulele around a campfire the singed his beard.

Obligatory reminder, friends 👆Also, like...yay, beautiful summer day on campus! 🌞

To elaborate: Yes, Financial Aid will close for charging tomorrow, friends. So, anything your academic heart desires that you wish to charge directly to your Financial Aid, today is the last day to indulge in that. After that, it is closed and we cannot charge anything else to it while they begin the ever-desired refund process.

Also, did you know most forms of Financial Aid will cover school supplies, technology and merch? We had some rad speakers on sale and we literally had regulars come in every day to buy them and stock up for future birthdays and holiday gatherings 😆

Some other business-y things of relevancy:
•There was a miscommunication regarding a CIS 199 code. We now have the correct one. So, if you purchased a CIS 199 code from us before 6/11/2025, please reach out to for us an entitled refund ❤️ We got you!

A truly heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to our NWSCC graduates today from us at the Bookstore! ❤️🎓✨

You did it! Like...you actually did it! You are a college graduate! And we couldn't be prouder!

Each and every one you should be proud at what a remarkable accomplishment you have made!

To our NWSCC men, women, nonbinary, first generations, next generations, minorities, people of color, LGBTQ+, parents, caregivers, special needs, veterans, back-to-schoolers, youngsters, youngsters-at-heart, all-nighters, early risers, "on my third cup of coffee-ers" and anyone and everyone in-between: We see you. We recognize your hard work. Above all, we recognize your value. We want to applaud all of you and thank you for being you 👏

If we at the bookstore could offer any piece of advice and elderly wisdom to you? Not really so much advice, just something to remember: You have goodness to offer this world. Every single one of you matter. By working hard and seeing it through to graduation, we hope a part of you knows that already ❤️

Oh, and, well, to quote a favorite graduation speech: "There is no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can't be improved with pizza." 🍕😏

To sound a bit parental: we can remember when many of you first entered into our educational emporium - a freshman - and now walk away a graduate. Thank you to those who have supported us here at the bookstore. It means the world to us ❤️🥹

Y'all...April has felt like the longest month, no? Some end of month fun 'cause why not? 🎓📚🌞🪨

If April has felt like an eternity to us, we can't imagine how our students must feel amidst the pressure of finals and other academic gauntlets to pass through and whatnot. So, how about an end-of-month photo dump of fun and business-y things hopefully presented in an equally fun context to add some brightness to your algorithm 😏

Ok, to those who have placed these kind-hearted painted rocks throughout the campus atrium tables? YES! 😍🥰 We see your efforts and truly want to thank you for putting this energy out there! It honestly goes a long way. This is the kind of world we want to live in and, hopefully it goes without saying, this is the kind of energy we want to embody at the Bookstore, so I hope it's cool we pass along this message to all those who see it. You ARE loved. You DO matter. And each and everyone has goodness to offer the world ❤️

Graduation is approaching. Nearly t-minus one week away 😉 We still have tassels and caps and gowns in-stock and will be selling 'em until the day of graduation...but, y'know, we encourage you to get yours sooner rather than later. Plus, a novelty keepsake frame to keep your diploma in *and* box of souvenir chocolates! Because, yeah, a major academic achievement is nice and life-changing, but so, too, is chocolate 🍫

Oh, and rental books are due back to our store on or before May 5th, y'know, lest ye be charged 😬

Plus, gotta love the sunny weather after a week of dreary April showers and storms. Thank you to those who keep our campus beautiful! We at the comfortably air conditioned bookstore are so eager for summer sun 🌞

NEW MERCH drop in 3...2...1! 🙌❤️💙

New tees *and* new sweatshirts have arrived 😁

These new pieces I think are especially special to us because we - the bookstore team - had a hand in personally selecting the designs for these pieces of textile brilliance to sell, so we're especially excited to see them come to fruition and be on sale now. We know it has been a hot minute since we got new pieces like these in, and we hope you all genuinely like 'em!

🎓 Graduation Caps & Gowns are on sale! Like...right NOW! 🎉

Hey, friends! So, alas, graduation at Northwest Shoals Community College is upon us! A more heartfelt and unabashedly cheesy congratulatory post is coming but, for now, we are the bookstore absolutely want to take a moment to congratulate all soon-to-be graduates! What you've achieved is so remarkable and we couldn't be prouder ❤️

So, with that said: If you're planning to walk at the graduation ceremony (which is on May 8th), you will need to purchase a graduation cap, gown and tassel from us. 😁 Simply visit us at the Muscle Shoals campus to purchase one!

Don't be shy to come on down to try it on, get our feedback if desired, make a memory, etc. We'll have fun with it! I promise if you're the overthinking type like us ("Why is that person's tassel a different color!? Am I wrong!?"), we will do our best to ease those anxieties and answer any questions.

If you are a Nursing student, you will require a gold tassel and a gold "Nursing" stole that we will oh-so gladly sell you. 💛 If you are not a nursing student, you will get the classic red tassel ❤️

So, yeah, this happened!

Super-stoked to announce we got in some oh-so ever-coveted new logo items to welcome into our fold here at the Bookstore! 😁

I hesitate to break-the-fourth-wall but, hey, we're all friends here, and it's no secret it has been a hot minute since we got in some new clothing. We thank you all for being patient and kind and supportive, still. Your requests have not fallen on uncaring ears and, at last, may these new items be to your Patriot heart's desire ♥️🤍💙

•Polos - just in time for Spring! 🌷 I think per the season and the upcoming golf team that is in the works, we've had a lot of requests for polos and, well, here they be in all their collard

•Half-zip long sleeve shirt - very comfy, athletic-y, lightweight material.

Some fun little accessories to also perpetuate your aforementioned school patriotism 😉

•Keychain! Finally may the keys to your kingdoms be complimented with this.

•Decal of the school's logo. Nothing says, "I am proud student..." like putting this on your car and declaring it to all the world who encounter you on the open road.

Vitamin Water ®! ...Now a thing at the bookstore 💁

Believe it or not: We had a student put in a request unto our oh-so congenial ears to see if we could start carrying this desired product. So, we asked. And...well...I guess if you saw the picture and/or read the opening sentence, you'll see we prevailed with that task and that we successfully were able to add this to our selection of liquid offerings 😏 ...and, also, it helped that Vitamin Water is a Coca-Cola™ owned product, but happy we could provide nonetheless! 😁

Actually, all attempts at witty IG banter aside, I am being totally serious when I say how we are *your* campus bookstore and, thus, we want you to, uh, (don't say "take advantage of us" because that's a weird and creepy saying) utilize our presence / make the most of us!

Like, you want something we don't have? Bring it to our attention, friends - we'll advocate for you and try and see if we can make it happen! 🤗 It matters because *you* matter and your support is what lets us continue doing what we love, too! ❤️

We appreciate your feedback and want to make your experience with us as awesome as it can be!

Oh and, like, while on the subject of drinks - Monster™ drinks are still 2 for $5. Yay, caffeine (a stark contrast from flavored water, I admit 😆). I also just personally find a fridge full of well-stocked drinks to be aesthetically pleasing 😁

Holiday gift ideas post perhaps 😏🎁 Happy Holidays, friends! ❤️💙

I mean, what kind of bookstore would we be if we didn't take a moment during the holidays to plug merch 😆

Yeah-yeah consumerism and, sure, of course we - the Bookstore - are going to consider anything we have in our store as being "the perfect gift." 😆 We promote self-awareness here 😏 But, honestly, a lot of these would make some good last-minute Christmas or Hanukkah gifts to family or yourself. Take it from personal experience: My family actually really appreciated having some merch from the school in which their (hopefully) loved one was attending. Kinda made them feel like they were being supportive and included on that journey.

Oh! I mean, yes, we are a college bookstore and, thus, the majority of aforementioned books are going to be textbooks, but did you know we have "fun" books too? Or "General Interest" perhaps is the tech term. I've actually bought a few of the local interest books myself for family I know they'll dig.

Plus, you can never go wrong with headphones 🎧 The waterproof speakers - in the opinion of this oh so humble account curator - would make a neat gift in the sense of being one of those type things you'd never think to buy for yourself but, like, sure if somebody gave one to you, you'd use it perhaps. Scented pencils and pens would make an excellent stocking stuffer, too.

Anyway, sales pitch over... Interpret all the information as you will 😏

We will be open until the end of the week....which, like, is tomorrow, so, y'know, come on down to our educational emporium of holiday offerings while you can! 🤗 After that, closed for the year until January 2, 2025, bébé.
