Apparel, related products and custom paintings are inspired by the beautiful palmetto tree that reflects strength, comfort, and relaxation. The inspiration for calmettos was born of a love of the outdoors; days in the field and wood with the Boykin; fishing the Carolina coast, and those beautiful Palmetto trees that have withstood hurricane force winds and English cannonballs. The Palmetto represents strength with its tightly woven fibers while at the same time serving as an icon that reflects a casual ‘sweet-tea’ lifestyle. These are benchmarks of the Carolina coastal plain and the calmetto. It’s all about heritage and deep roots – it’s akin to Calhoun Harrelson, our founder and calmettos artist. Our tee shirts carry a unique, original calmetto personally created by Calhoun to bring visual life to the calmetto. These high-end, finely crafted 100% southern cotton calmetto tees remind the wearer of what makes life fun, comfortable, and refreshing – even with a sprinkling of pride. New calmettos are being introduced regularly – allowing you to build your own personal calmettos collection. You’ll find calmettos at only the best clothiers and outdoor outfitters throughout the southeast. Hand-painted calmettos suitable for framing or simply displaying in a den, study, office or most any room, are available from select retailers conveniently located near you.
