Welcome to Queer Chocolatier on Facebook! Morgan and her wife, Cheri, have been married since 2015. Ten years prior to that, Morgan began creating handmade chocolate truffles for friends and family. With her wife's love and support, Morgan launched Queer Chocolatier in 2017 to serve as a marketplace for her chocolates and artwork for decorating homes of queer and trans folx. I love all the q***r things in Muncie!!!

Laat night, ***ralliance held a reception for the Matters of Pride art show at and it was a lovely time to meet and hear from all the artists!

MQA will also be hosting a Friday Film Series all month long on films that are with LGBTQ+ themes

We're always doing something gay AF here in Magic City!!

We've also got Indiana's old gay bar, and I guess technically I'm Indiana's oldest q***r chocolatier... 👀👀

Lean forward, friends, because we gotta have a quick chat

Governor Braun of Indiana decided on June 1st that the best way he could use taxpayers' money was to issue this insecure proclamation

Besides the fact he's limping along in the shadowy wake of Trump and trying to be as bigoted as possible to issue this at the start of he's doing something else here, too

It's obvious that he's implying that q***r families don't fit the mold, that we aren't loving and capable of raising wonderful humans

News flash: we can, do, and have been

However, this proclamation is also ground-laying to eventually eliminate no-fault divorce as a way to further trap women in terrible marriages with terrible men who behave terribly

Which is why you hear me and other q***rs and other marginalized folks go on and on about solidarity

When society recognizes the rights of and fully appreciates the contributions of marginalized populations, society in general benefits

Women are catching strays in this effort to further institutionalize homophobia and transphobia

So, what can you do?

Keep showing up for us! Keep holding the line and fight harder! Channel the righteous rage of our q***r foremothers and forefathers and all our forerunners and protect us!

Show courage in compassion for those of us who are being targeted by the state!

Don't simply laugh this proclamation off as goofy s**t that these goofs do

Understand the implications and think forward as to what the consequences--intended or unintended--may be and make plans to show up and out with political and material support!

Looking out for us is in your own self-interest and, for what it's worth, that's honestly good enough for me for now

Happy Pride Month, fam, and then comes Happy Wrath!

"I'm q***r"

It's my answer to anyone who asks me what my orientation is

Yes, I'm bisexual

But I'm q***r first and foremost

Why?

Because I understand the political power of the word q***r

It's our word

Yes it was (and still can be) used as a slur, especially against cis gay men and I hate that this word can cause them pain

Because it's ours again

Let me be clear that any word we have for ourselves can be used to cause pain when spit at us by homophobic monsters

However, if the word doesn't fit you, I'm not going to force the word on you

For me, using the word "q***r" allows me to step under an umbrella that doesn't just cover bisexual people (in my case); it can cover all of us who are not heterosexual or cisgender and it can provide protection through the strength in numbers power

It allows me to build community and solidarity by seeing us as more similar to one another than by continually carving out smaller niches

I love that people use labels to learn about themselves and to interrogate their identities and orientations. That curiosity and desire to understand is beautiful and allows a person to grow into a freedom outside of cishet norms

During Pride month, I am devoted to the word "q***r" because we need to push back with a force that will end these cyclical battles of our rights to love and live freely and to do so in solidarity with the most vulnerable amongst us

I wish you joy and rage and courage and power and rest and love and freedom and chocolate this Pride month!

Had a really exciting weekend that was jam-packed with q***r and chocolate-y joy but I left my melanger slightly unattended (I should have emptied it but i just let it "conch" on a lower speed) and came home to discover some chocolate had frozen in place

🙃🤡🙃🤡

I'm glad I was still buzzing off of such positive community vibes when this happened or else I'd be sobbing so hard at knowing the chore ahead of me...

If you need me in the next 4 days or so, no you don't

I'll be too busy chiseling and shaving and superficially melting and scraping nearly 11 pounds of chocolate out of this beast and then giving myself a stern talking to

It ain't all glamor here at Q***r Chocolatier
