Four years ago I wanted to start a Book Advent Calendar. I went out, spent my budget at the local book store and came home with 5 books. I felt discouraged that I would never have enough for a full Advent.
•
Fast forward to today, as I’m shuffling my books around under the tree, I realized that this year I finally have enough for my book advent!!! In fact, I have more than enough!!!
•
They’re not all UBAM, I’m also a huge fan of Jan Brett Holiday Books!!! But here are my favorite Usborne Books and More Christmas Books! Also, with both white & colors lights because I’m indecisive.

There’s no denying that the weather has turned here in the PNW! It’s COLD and WET outside. But it’s perfect Book weather.

After a hot breakfast, this is how I found my daughter, curled up (on the dog bed) in front of the fireplace with a few good books.I snapped this photo before she noticed. This is real life, not staged, in our home. A cozy day, reading books independently (even if she can’t read yet), while I have a moment to catch up. These are the life skills we’re building and I’m good with it ❤️

I’ve been quiet on social media lately; taking the time to savor my son’s last few days as a baby. This past weekend, this boy turned ONE!
•
It’s a weird year and we’re doing our part in Social Distancing, so we celebrated with a UBAM Book Party 🥳 This little one earned some new books and was showered in love from friends and family far and wide. While I wish we could have celebrated in person, I’m grateful we have a virtual option with UBAM. Stay Little Forever 💙

It’s a rainy day here in the PNW, and I’m so excited! Now that it’s getting dark earlier and the weather has turned, I look forward to more time snuggled up with the kiddos and a good book! What better way to enjoy the dark than with books that reveal hidden images with a flashlight! Can you spot the volcano on this page?

Confession, I enjoy this series almost as much as my kiddos. Not only are they entertaining, but even I learn secrets I never knew. Today we’re traveling the world from the comforts of home and learning about all the things that inspire us to explore the world around us!

Mornings are NOT for me. I don’t wake up ready to take on the world. In fact, I need a whole half-pot of coffee before I can form a complete sentence.
•
This is where a large library comes in handy. The kids and pets typically get me up around 5 am, we all tumble down the stairs and both kids find books for the next 45 min while I shuffle around in the kitchen making coffee for me and food for everyone else.
•
I know a lot of parents use screen time in the morning, and I won’t judge. Clearly I relate to needing that morning “me” time. When we built such a large library with Usborne, I honestly didn’t expect it to save my mornings. Yet, here I am, guilt free on my second cup of HOT coffee while the kids “read” and I wake up.
•
Also, don’t mind my Halloween themed books that are not put away. I don’t jump into Christmas until after Thanksgiving and I’m clearly not THAT mom who has it all together the day (or two) after a holiday.
•

Not just for Halloween! This skeleton won’t go back into the closet after tomorrow.
•
Instead, this book stays on our shelf all year long. With so many flaps, my toddler loves to lift and look at all the different parts of the body. At 3 years old, I was worried this book would be something we’d have to put away for a few more years, however, Usborne does an amazing job of making the material easy to understand. We love to learn about our bodies and the importance of keeping healthy. It makes daily routines like a hearty breakfast, teeth brushing, and exercise, easier when the kids understand how these practices support their own bodies.

I never thought I’d be a Book Babe. I never thought I’d have a library of . In fact, until recently, I owned exactly 1 Usborne book that was given to us as a gift and I had never even shopped their books online. I joined having never attended a party... I had no idea what I was doing.
•
So why the sudden (and dramatic) change of heart? Simple. I took a look, and realized the quality of products Usborne offers is unmatched. I geek out looking at the products they offer with a deeper understanding of exactly how the books are designed to encourage little minds to grow.
•
I am more than Usborne books, and I’ll introduce myself more fully in a future post. But for now, I’m so excited to have the opportunity to introduce my love of books and early childhood development through all that Usborne has to offer.
