Natures Design of Mountain Top will be closing early today due to another scheduled appointment. We will close at 2:45 pm. I will probably reopen 4:15 but I recommend you call ahead at 570-954-5067 to be sure. I will be flexible about my closing time if you arrive by 5:00. Sorry for any inconvenience.

WHAT BROUGHT ME TO MINERALS. I just love the color palette of naturally formed minerals. The Earth guided by Mother Nature is such a magician & artist.
Of course it all came from outer space as dust & hot gases but once our planet 🌎 formed , the minerals started forming. The Chemistry of the minerals contributes to those beautiful colors. ENJOY

I’m providing Nature’s Design followers with a small glimpse of the pile of new material acquired at the Springfield Mass wholesale show. Yes I went crazy so I hope you come help me liven up your collections with some brand new mineral discoveries I found at the show. IT doesn’t scratch the surface. Come see it all this Saturday. On our way back from the wonderful Springfield Mass wholesale mineral show. I promised myself I would buy sensibly & with discipline. I, as always, failed that promise. I bought a lot of super new material. As I unpack it , label it & enter in into inventory I will photograph it to share the highlights. Below see a few hints of what you might see.

This weeks Magnificent 7+ consists of Rock specimens instead of pure mineral specimens. Allow me to share the definition of a rock in an attempt to clarify the difference between a rock & a mineral. A rock is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of multiple minerals in one specimen. It is almost always inorganic. A few exceptions are amber, coal, some shales & some biogenic limestones. Why do I present these ? I love how they were created, looking at them under my microscope is most fascinating. The mixture of colors & shapes create a whole new variation. I recommend that you enlarge every one as to fully appreciate their uniqueness. In the future I will include some magnification pics as well. I’ve added a few farm visitors to share with you as well.
