Polki diamonds are uncut diamond slices, a jewelry tradition that began in India during the Mughal era (1500sā€“1600s). Long before modern diamond-cutting techniques existed, jewelers shaped diamonds in their natural formā€”celebrating their raw sparkle, unique inclusions, and organic shapes.

For hundreds of years, polki jewelry was worn by royalty and artisans across North India. These diamonds were set using a traditional method called kundan, where pure gold was shaped by hand around each stone. Every piece was made slowly, intentionally, and entirely by hand.

Today, polki jewelry is still deeply connected to Indian heritage, but contemporary designers (like me!) also reimagine it in modern, minimal forms.

This ring features three natural polki diamond slices set in Gold & Silver.
