The Wildbird Shack is the source of all of your birding needs! From bird seed to bird feeders, bird houses to bird baths, we have all of the items you need to make your yard, school yard or green space bird friendly. Trying to engage your children in nature learning? We have a special kids’ section as well as children’s nature books. We have great items for your expedition including binoculars and

guidebooks. Many of our items are made in the USA with some made locally. We also carry locally made artisan items such as jewelry and candles. Did you know watching backyard birds can lower anxiety and stress? Studies have shown bird watching can encourage communication skills, lift spirits and lower blood pressure. This is extremely useful when working with dementia and rehab patients. Do you need help locating the best place for your feeders, birdhouse or outside accessories? We can help Birdscape your backyard/garden area to create a calming atmosphere at your home or facility. The Wildbird Shack is happy to host your community event. We can put together educational programs about backyard birding or birding in our preserves. We also host Style Your Own Bird House Events where guests craft their own bird houses. You can also reserve a private bird house event with us. We also have a new line of DIY Bird Crafts perfect for helping keep the kids busy while learning about birds! Additionally, we can create a special Zoom bird presentation event just for your group!

🌳🦆Techny Basin in Glenview is one of Alyse’s favorite birding hotspots. The view of the basin from the trail is outstanding!

This is an excellent spot to shorebirds and waterfowl amongst many others.

The trail is paved and easy to navigate. A number of various habitats make this quite a haven.

We spotted a black-crowned night heron on a recent visit!
