CONGRATS to Trudy’s Hallmark #74 in Rockwall, TX for becoming a Sweet Shop USA PREMIER RETAILER!
Wendi Sutton, Store Manager for 3 ½ years, has been in her role since the store opened. Her expertise in the retail world gave her the opportunity to manage Trudy’s Hallmark #74.
She says her favorite thing about carrying Sweet Shop USA chocolates is that “it builds relationships with customers”. Customers love coming into our store where “they ask questions about the beautiful truffles, the exciting flavors, and how they are made”. Customers “love gathering around our candy case”.
Her staff is thoroughly trained on selling Sweet Shop and it shows! Wendy says many of her regular customers come in on Thursdays to take advantage of their promotion (Buy 3, Get 1). She tells the story of a sweet couple in their 80’s who have come in faithfully on Thursdays since the store opened. They used to pick out chocolates for ONE box to share, and now they each pick out their OWN box because they do not want to share.
Some fan favs include: Milk Chocolate Pecan Brags, Showgirls, Wedding Cake, Italian Creme, and Chocolate Birthday Cake!
Wendi orders “seasonal favorites” as well. For example, in the summertime she always makes sure she carries the “S’mores Brag”! Customers love to see this shift every season, and because Wendi and her staff build relationships around the candy case, customers come in and try the new offerings!
In fact one of her customers suggested placing a “S’mores Brag in the microwave for 10 seconds” then enjoying it! Wendi says she has tried this herself, and it's delicious and a nostalgic reminder of sitting around a campfire and making smores as a kid.
