We’ve got a fun weekend coming up in The Woods with back to back events. We kick things off Friday night with Campfire Comedy Night! Then, Saturday we’re back with our monthly Craft & Antique shows!

🔥 CAMP FIRE COMEDY is pulling up to Mt. Laurel and it’s FREE.11 comics. A real fire pit. S’mores for sale. And zero dollars to get in.

Friday, May 29th • 7:30–9:30pm

Headliner Jason Howard is bringing the heat, hosted by the always hilarious Joey Lupo, with a stacked lineup including Patti Pressler, Jaclyn Romano, Kendra Shine, Alexa Green, Jim Lynch, Jimmy V, Lil Jough, Marcos Montana, and Mike Hoover.

This is the kind of night you’ll be talking about Monday morning. Come cozy up and laugh your face off.

Campfires, comedy, and Rancocas Woods? 🔥😂
Yeah… this sounds like a South Jersey night done right.

Hey everyone… Peter Simon Liciaga here.

Founder, writer, photographer, videographer, coffee drinker ☕… and basically “the everything guy” behind Living Strong Spotlight. 😄

And THIS right here is exactly why I created Living Strong Spotlight in the first place.

To shine a light on the people, the creativity, the courage, and the little moments happening right here in our local community that make South Jersey feel HUMAN.

I just came across this collaboration between Camden Comedy Collective and Rancocas Woods Events and Shops for “Camp Comedy Fire” happening on Creek Road in Mount Laurel… and honestly, I immediately smiled.

Because THIS is the kind of thing that gives a community personality.

Local people creating experiences.
Neighbors gathering together.
Comedy around a fire pit.
Creativity out in the open.
People stepping onto a stage with courage and humor.

I absolutely love it.

I’ve gotten to know Salina and the creative energy behind Camden Comedy Collective, and a few weeks ago I even had the chance to jump into the brave world of open mic comedy during one of their events at Angelo’s Larchmont Pizzeria.

Now listen…

Was I nervous?

ABSOLUTELY. 😂

But I also loved it.

There’s something powerful about watching ordinary people grab a microphone and simply try to make other human beings laugh.

That takes guts.

And honestly, in today’s world, laughter and human connection matter more than ever.

What I also love about this event is seeing Rancocas Woods Events & Shops continuing to create experiences that bring people together here in Mount Laurel. Creek Road has always had its own unique personality and charm, and events like this continue building that creative, community-centered spirit that makes the area feel alive.

You’ve got comedy.
You’ve got local people.
You’ve got creativity.
You’ve got campfires and conversation.
You’ve got artists, performers, storytellers, and neighbors all sharing space together.

That’s special.

That’s community.

That’s Living Strong.

And THIS is exactly the kind of thing I want Living Strong Spotlight to continue highlighting throughout South Jersey.

Not just businesses.

But PEOPLE.
Experiences.
Ideas.
Moments.
Connection.

Because these little local moments?

They matter.

They create memories.
They create culture.
They create belonging.

So yes… my goal is definitely to be there.

I’ll probably have my little journalist’s notebook in one hand and my camera in the other 📓📷 wandering around capturing moments, conversations, laughter, and community energy for Living Strong Spotlight.

There are places in a community that do more than simply “exist.”

They become part of the rhythm of local life.

Places where people slow down a little…
Walk around…
Talk to each other…
Discover something unexpected…
And reconnect with what makes small-town community feel human again.

That’s what Rancocas Woods Events and Shops has quietly become for so many people in our area.

And the beautiful thing about it is this…

Behind every small shop, every event, every handmade item, every cup of coffee, every conversation, and every open sign…
there are real people showing up every single day trying to build something meaningful.

Families.
Shop owners.
Artists.
Creators.
Dreamers.
Hard-working people doing their best to keep something special alive.

When you walk through Rancocas Woods, you can feel it.

This isn’t some giant corporate shopping center built around transactions.

It feels personal.

It feels like people built it with their hands, their time, their risk, their creativity, and a whole lot of persistence.

And truthfully…
that matters more today than ever before.

Because small local places like this do something powerful for a community.

They create connection.

They give local business owners a chance to be seen.
They give families a place to spend time together.
They create opportunities for conversations, events, memories, and experiences that simply can’t be duplicated online.

The events, the seasonal gatherings, the local vendors, the small storefronts, the energy of people supporting each other…
that doesn’t happen by accident.

It takes effort.

It takes consistency.

It takes people willing to keep showing up even during hard seasons, changing times, rising costs, and uncertainty.

And to me…
that’s a form of Living Strong.

Not loud.
Not flashy.

Just steady.

People doing honest work.
People believing in community.
People continuing to create something worthwhile for others.

That deserves recognition.

So today’s Living Strong Spotlight is simply a salute to the people behind Rancocas Woods Events & Shops…
and to all the local businesses, creators, and families helping keep that spirit alive.
