***Photo File is Making a Comeback!***
So what's happening at Photo File? This article will explain Photo File's history and the company's hopes for the future. Photo File was started in 1987 and was the first brand ever to receive a license from both Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association to sell licensed sports photos. Over the decades, the company was awarded licenses with all the major sports leagues, including NFL, NBA and NHL. Photo File became the world leader in licensed sports imagery. Later, it also obtained collegiate licensing for some of the country's largest colleges and universities.
In 2018, the company was acquired by Globe Photos, Inc. Globe Photos had some great ideas to improve the company like offering a line of personalized image products. Unfortunately, the organization had some financial problems and declared bankruptcy just as the pandemic closed so much of the world in March 2020. But the story of Photo File continues on.
Photo File assets were bought at auction by a group of investors in the summer of 2020. The new group, Globe Entertainment and Media Corp., is thrilled to have Photo File back in the game. The people at Photo File are working hard to bring fans the sports imagery they love. In fact, there's a plan on the table for the company to begin production by early 2021. Photo File is again positioned to be a leader in sports imagery!
The new Photo File team is extremely excited to be working on this project. It's a fact that most people have taken a break from so many things they love due to the pandemic. Photo File hopes to again be a mainstay in the market just as the world returns to normal in 2021 and fans reengage with events and associated brands.
Photo File is grateful to all our fans for their loyalty and patience as the team works hard to revive the brand and again offer the best in sports imagery. We're going to keep adding inventory from our warehouse, so check back often and share us on social media - we promise more products are coming soon!
