Wow! It’s been a full year since we closed our doors for the final time. I cannot believe how fast that went! It feels like a million moons ago.

At the time of closing, so many people asked me, “what’s next?” I wasn’t sure then and I still don’t have the perfect answer, but I’m amazed by how much has happened in 365 days.

Many amazing and exciting opportunities have come our way since then!

If you haven’t been following along — we added two more Door County cottages at Timberline Cottages and we’ve poured our energy into making them a welcoming space for all our guests.

We’ve tackled so many DIY projects that we’ve lost track, but we’re pretty excited about the deck addition at Three Pines Lakehouse.

It’s not all sunshine & rainbows though — unfortunately our daughter experienced a bad sports injury, so she has had even more surgeries, rehab and a year-long hiatus from the things she loves most. We turned lemons into lemonade and used the break to try new things and spend time doing all the other things we love.

We also sadly said goodbye to our infamous dog, Arby. It’s been almost 6 months and we’re still learning a new normal, as we have never *not* had a dog. 🥹

Through it all - the highs, the heartaches, and everything in between - this year has reminded us how resilient, adaptable, and supported we truly are.

While the future is still unfolding, we’re moving forward with open hearts, deep gratitude, and a continued passion for creating things that inspire us and those around us.

Thank you for following along and being part of our journey - it means more than you know.

Here’s to whatever comes in the next 365.

There are a million feel good reasons to support a small business, but when it comes down to it - the most valuable thing is knowing you're supporting real people. People who live in your community and care about the same things you do. You know them by name. You know what they do in their free time. You know their family. When you buy from Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. it's just not the same. No one is behind the scenes feeling joy fill their bodies when you make that purchase.

That warm feeling and the connections we made with all of you will always be the thing we miss the most about owning KELLA. As you approach your holiday shopping, I strongly encourage you to spread joy by helping to support artists, makers and locally-owned businesses as much as you possibly can. I can promise you that the warmth they will feel is absolutely priceless ❤️

The very best day of the year! We are sad to miss seeing you all today, but please go support our friends throughout Mount Horeb and beyond.

Officially said goodbye 👋🏻 to the shop last night and all it took was a 20 foot moving truck, a little sweat, some blisters and a few smashed toes. 🤣 Note: we had kept the large fixtures in case it was helpful for the next renter. If you or anyone you know is interested in any of the shelves, piping, mannequins, displays, etc please reach out so I can park in my garage again 😵‍💫
