Join the gold rush! With the weak yen and sword prices in Japan the lowest in decades, now is the time to start taking advantage of the great deals on Yahoo Japan auctions. Since Yahoo Japan auction bidding is restricted to those with a Yahoo Japan account and Japanese address, people outside of Japan have had to rely on proxy buying services. Unfortunately, none of the proxy services allow the purchase of Japanese swords due to the export and shipping restrictions. As a result, most collectors must either sit on the side lines or pay a premium for items many Western dealers are buying through agents in Japan.
I have a Yahoo Japan account and an export/shipping agent in Japan that I have used for my own purchases for 20 or more years. After many requests, I have decided to offer a Yahoo Japan auction proxy bidding service for those looking to purchase Japanese swords directly from Japan!
I will offer two service levels:
1. Bid, buy, ship service: you tell me what and how much to bid and forward your bid amount to me via WISE or Paypal. I will place your bid on your behalf. When the auction ends, if your bid is the winner, I will pay for the item and have it sent to my agent who will complete the export paperwork and ship the sword to you.
2. Consultation Service: if you want help locating items, translating, or vetting items, in addition to the bid, buy, ship service, I can offer my expertise gained over 40 years of collecting and buying on Yahoo Japan. I can find items of specific interest to you, or recommend items within your general area of interest and/or budget.
In addition, I can offer polishing, restoration, and shinsa services in Japan! Save the shipping and import fees by having the work done BEFORE the item leaves Japan! I have been working with Japanese sword polishers and other craftsman for 30 years and have a connections with many top level artisans.
