This is my Google Earth Map for Railfans. This map has the details broken down more than my Google My Map. Essentially allowing you to look at the info in a more customized way. Also this map can allow you to go back in time and view changes over time to different areas. Check it out and remember it is a work in progress.

Another Stop on my Duluth Trip was in Proctor visiting another DMIR Yellowstone. This one is out and about with the elements(pigeons) Little disappointed that the care isn't there for this one and I doubt anything hopeful is in the future for this piece of history.

The more I railfan and the more I like to look into the history of my local railroads the more information I gather. I have decided to start putting that information together on a couple of maps. Both maps will have the same info in general. This one is a standard Google Maps, this one is easier to access and see on both PC and Phone with the Google Maps app, but due to limitations I can't break down the detail as much. Check it out and if you have any info to add or correct message me so I can keep this as accurate as possible. If you're looking for more detail check out my Google Earth Map.

Map of Railroad info for railroad fans.

Stop #2 on my trip last weekend was good ole Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range 2-8-8-4 "Yellowstone" No. 229, preserved in 1987 the Yellowstone locomotives are considered the Kings of the Iron Range. Comparable to the UP 'Big Boy' the Yellowstones were designed for the hills and the long ore trains. Located it Two Harbors this DMIR Yellowstone is the best preserved of the 2 that are free to see.

First Stop of my Duluth trip was a stop in Two Harbors, MN. Here I got to finally see in person the ONLY wood burning steam locomotive owned by the Duluth & Iron Range Locomotive. The D&IR #3 was known as "3 Spot" A 2-6-0 Locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1883. Originally built for Tehuantapec Interocean Railway but they refused it so D&IR purchased it to help lay rails.

While on a road trip yesterday I caught this along the way. The Kansas City & Southern de Mexico [KCSM] 4548. This locomotive was built in 1998 for the Transportación Ferroviaria Mexicana [TFM] 2648. It was then relabeled in 2005 when the KCSM bought out TFM. Currently the KCSM is a subsidiary of the CPKC

Yesterday in the gloom and doom I had a little road trip. While on the road trip I wanted to focus on the St. Croix Valley RR "The Skally Line". This section is the only part that remains intact and active of the St. Paul & Duluth RR that goes from St. Paul to Duluth.

This is a page that follows my hobby as a railfan and model train enthusiast. I enjoy taking photos of the local trains around me and also many of the displays. I do work a full time job and have a family like many people do so my time is limited. If the weather is nice I'm more of a railfan, if it's nasty I'm more of a model railroader.
