A little look inside the Grant County Fair! 🎡🧵

We’re sharing some pictures from the quilting section, along with the two departments that Country Fabrics had the honor of decorating and setting up this year: Machine Sewing and Creative Fabric Arts.

Casey took on the responsibility of being the Superintendent of the Machine Sewing and Creative Fabric Arts departments. Casey, Amanda, Robert and myself (Heather) are so happy with how the area turned out. Robert help hang the lattice up, Amanda showed up with her creativity to decorative, I came to judge and decorative. Then Casey filled in and did all the fun and hard things in between it all. If you she Casey, please let her know how well she did on this!

It’s always fun to see the creativity, time, and hard work that goes into all the fair entries. We love getting to see the beautiful quilts, sewing, embroidery, and handmade projects that our community brings in each year.

🧵 There’s still time to enter the County Fair! 🎉

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY for in-person entries, so if you’ve been working on a sewing, embroidery, quilting, or other Home Ec project, don’t let it sit at home! ❤️

Entering is FREE, and we’d love to see what you’ve been creating! 🪡✨

Casey will be down in the Home Ec Building tomorrow to check everyone in and help get your items entered.

So grab those projects and come show them off! You worked hard on them — now let the fair see them! 🏆🧵

📢 IMPORTANT 2026 GRANT COUNTY FAIR EXHIBIT REGISTRATION & DROP-OFF INFORMATION📢

Please carefully review the following dates and times for bringing your still life exhibits to the 2026 Grant County Fair.

📅 THURSDAY, AUGUST 13
PRE-REGISTERED EXHIBITS ONLY
🎀 Girl Scouts: 2:00 PM–6:00 PM
🎨 Arts & Crafts: 4:00 PM–8:00 PM

🚨IN-PERSON REGISTRATION BEGINS ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 14th - Please refer to the graphic below for in person registration dates/times.
📍 Please stop by the 4-H Building first to register your items before taking them to the appropriate exhibit buildings.

4-H/FFA EXHIBIT DROP OFF:
📅 SUNDAY, AUGUST 16 | 3:00 PM–6:00 PM
4-H Static Departments will be accepting PRE-REGISTERED EXHIBITS ONLY.
📅 MONDAY, AUGUST 17 | 2:00 PM–8:00 PM
FFA Still Life Department will be accepting PRE-REGISTERED EXHIBITS ONLY.
🚨 PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to have your 4-H/FFA exhibits registered was July 10, 2026. There will be NO registration of items during the Sunday, August 16, or Monday, August 17, exhibit drop-off times.

⏰ Please arrive early and have your exhibits ready for drop-off or registration.

They may not know a thing about quilting, but they’re excellent at inspecting fabric, sitting where they shouldn’t, and making sure I’m never working alone. 😂

Well… our flower basket has officially been hit for the 7th time! 🤦‍♀️🌸 At this point, we think it deserves its own insurance policy!

Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. While Casey and Amanda were out trying to rescue our poor flower basket (again!), our wonderful neighbors at the fire department across the street saw what was happening. Without us even asking, they came over, grabbed their tools, and helped get everything fixed up.

We can’t thank them enough for jumping in and lending a hand. It’s moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to be part of such an amazing community.

A huge THANK YOU to our local firefighters for your kindness, generosity, and willingness to help. You truly made our day! ❤️🚒

Now let’s see if we can keep this flower basket standing for a little while… fingers crossed that #7 is the last! 🤞🌺

🚨 Boo Boo Alert! 🚨🐻

Well… it looks like Boo Boo got into the newsletter before we hit “Send!” 🤦‍♀️😂

If you noticed it says “July Newsletter,” you’re not imagining things! We had a little boo boo and forgot to change the title to August.

The good news? Everything inside the newsletter is correct, and all of our August specials and events are still good to go!

We’ll let Boo Boo take the blame this time… but if Yogi asks, we definitely didn’t steal his picnic basket! 🧺🐻😂

🌸 A friendly reminder to our wonderful customers 🌸

We kindly ask that if you are not comfortable parking in or backing out of our small parking lot, please use the church parking lot or available street parking.

Our flower basket has now been hit 5 times. We even placed a red flag in it to make it more visible, but unfortunately it continues to get damaged.

The basket was intentionally placed in the grass area to help protect our lawn, prevent vehicles from driving over the grass, and avoid damage to our underground sprinkler system.

We truly appreciate everyone taking a little extra care when parking. Thank you for helping us keep our little corner of the community looking beautiful! 🌺
