Fresh outta the kiln 🔥(again!): the most unlucky kiln load we’ve ever had! But isn’t she beautiful?!
This load started in Pullman when the kiln gave us an error. We then re-fired it in Pullman thinking we had fixed the error— only to learn we were going to need backup help. So we moved that kiln load of pottery to the Colfax kiln, and got about half through that kiln when *that kiln also went out*
So this second half of the pottery then made a trip to our Moscow studio and kiln, where it fired beautifully— and— then that kiln gave us an error message and wants to see the doctor, too.
That’s *all three* of our big studio kilns staging a strike this week. And the one batch of pottery that had all the 🍀 luck (or lack there of)
Do you ever get superstitious about things like that? What do you do to make the bad luck go away? We’ve heard we should make a kiln god, include sage in our next firing, or perhaps a small offering of…beer? All ideas welcome!
