And that’s a wrap on 2025 here at Salt Bakery! And what a whirlwind (😉) wrap it was.
I started prepping on Monday for two big days of baking this week. I had a big order for yesterday, and even more for today. And then 12 minutes after I got up yesterday morning to start in the kitchen, power went out. The wind storm got us, and everything was on hold. Having heard that outages could last till Friday, I pretty much wrote off both of my fridges & my extra freezer (and the prepped bakes in them) as complete losses.
But then at 6:30 last night, all the lights came on! I looked at the clock, gauged how much I had to do, and went for it. 4 hours last night and 5 hours this morning, and all orders made it out the door to our very understanding and patient customers today. 🙌🏼
And now we settle in for a few weeks of slowing down. I look forward to serving you all in the new year, but until then, have a very Merry Christmas, and praise God from Whom all blessings (and electricity!) flow!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!
My rolls didn’t rise correctly and I had to run to the store AGAIN for onions, so while I was at the store I just decided that we will be serving Safeway’s garlic & cheese loaf alongside their rosemary & olive oil loaf.
So just a reminder that actually giving thanks to our Creator is way more important than having the perfect homemade spread on your equally perfect table. Give Him thanks for the successes, the failures, and the grace that He gives enabling you to laugh through it all! Have a blessed holiday!

BAKERY UPDATE!
The update is that I was checking through IG earlier this week and saw that I hadn’t listed anything for sale here since May! 😱 This explains why people keep asking if I’m still doing the baking thing, ha!
I am 100% still doing the baking thing, and am staying busy with subscriptions and special orders to the point that I just don’t get around to listing things as much as I used to. This is not a bad thing! Busyness is a good thing, I’m just sorry if y’all have been waiting for me to have things available.
So just a big thank you to y’all for hanging in there with me as I keep this little bakery going! What a blessing to be able to do this in our little town! ♥️

And that’s a wrap on 2023 here at Salt Bakery! I turned my oven off at 8:30 last night and will be delivering just a couple more boxes of gifted baked goods later this morning.
Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who buy from Salt Bakery, because you enable me to carry on my favorite part of this business - the anonymously gifted treats. If you all could only see all the smiles on people’s faces! Earlier this week I took a box of goodies to the employees at the UPS store after a friend noticed their cheerful service through the holiday rush. The lady behind the counter was so *thrilled* to receive the box and to know that they were appreciated.
Last month I took a box to the home of an Avista employee in the middle of our regional natural gas outage that had teams scrambling around the clock. She was so surprised. It was just one box to one family, but we gotta start somewhere, right?
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and wonderful time with your families and friends. Give joyfully. Plant those seeds. Quoting a favorite author, “When God puts something in your hands and you pass it on, you don’t know how far that gift is going, you don’t know how much of a miracle this is at all. It’s bizarre. It’s strange.” Do it anyway, do it cheerfully, and do it trusting God with the outcome. Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
