We'd like to let everyone know that we will be opening on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The pumpkins are looking great, and we are really pleased with the corn maze. We can't wait to see everyone again. Our hours will be Mon-Sat 9-6 and Sundays 12-5.
But, it is with great sadness that we let everyone know this will be our last year to share our farm with all of you. As of November 1st of this year, we will be still be farming as Ackerman Family Farms LLC, but we will be closing the the retail and agritourism part of our operation.
Many of our costs have risen dramatically as well over the last few years. This is particularly true of labor. It is by far our single largest expense. And, while we can understand the need for a living wage, as a small business with many seasonal employees, it can be difficult.
That said, one of the things we will miss the most will be our family of employees. There have been over 400, mostly young men and women, working for us over the last 26 seasons. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work alongside, mentor to, and become friends with them. We watched them grow into adults, and many have brought their own children back to visit.
We will also miss our wonderful guests. They have shared their families with us. Many of them have been nature and animal lovers, fellow farm advocates, and creative foodies. We have cherished all of your pictures over the years.
There have been roughly 30,000 school children take part in our educational field trips. We have also loved all of our teachers - both the teachers who brought their students, and our farm educators. It has been a joy to host them over the years.
Thank you everyone for 26 years of love and support. We have been truly Blessed.
