We are blushing... Jalopy's has somehow become a finalist in Cincy Magazines Family Choice Awards. We are shocked and assuming some sort of clerical error or until they figure it out...we are never one to waste an opportunity, carpe diem. 😁

l heard a rumor this weekend is Father's Day: Free travel mug with purchase this Saturday. So bring Dad or if he can't make it, come in buy him something or get a gift card.
If you're one of those kids, buy yourself something and give Dad the free mug. We won't judge.

I have a unhealthy infatuation with chalkware and silent statues. 3 years ago, I found this 1967 Austin Productions chalkware statue, The Peddler. He looked like he’d seen things...lived a life and I liked that. He found a new purpose just sitting on a shelf at my house and being admired.
When I decided to open Jalopy's, I realized it was time for this freeloaders' vacation to end.
I dragged him into a photoshoot. I captured his best angle and just like that he became the Jerry West, "The Logo," of Jalopy's.
He now chills in the shop knowing he is a vital part of the Jalopy's machine... still claiming he deserves residual checks for his NIL.

So this is my friend & the reason why Jalopy's Smells Good. Cliff notes version for those of you, like me, who haven't read anything since the Book It program bribed us with Pizza...Nathan is good people and has an awesome store. Nathan has worked hard at this Media Thing and the Media Gremlins wiped out all his hard work. Bad Gremlins. Please help us get Wicksy back to a bazillion followers. It would make me happy. Thank you!

Most exciting 2 minutes in sports...
We love Derby Day at Jalopy's! This Silver bowl is a part of my personal collection. In 1925, it was given to Jockey Earl Sande to commemorate his KY Derby win on Flying Ebony. 5 years later he won the Triple Crown on Gallant Fox.

This one stings a little...
The short answer: "yeah." Now before you all call one of them hoarder shows on me... thinking you know a guy.

The shop wasn't started because I had a collection breeding like rabbits in my basement. It started from a collection I already had for online sales and another location. When I opened the store, naturally I started sourcing exponentially more inventory. You know, kinda like I was starting a storefront. While to some it looks like someone's collection gone wild, it is a business, with a plan. My inventory didn't get out of hand, I got ambitious.

(I do not do consignment, because I like to be in control of pricing. Especially when we have sales. It makes it so much easier.)

Jalopy: noun, Dilapitated old vehicle.
When thinking of a name for my new adventure, I wanted something different, a little funny and a little mysterious. The word "jalopy" one day just crawled out of my subconscious, oddly narrated in my grandfather's voice. That's what he called my first car.
While it is meant to have a negative connotation, for me and like most car guys...it was more a term of endearment. It was mine and I loved that car.
Jalopy's is just like that... something may be just junk or meaningless to you but could mean something or even everything to someone else. So the name fit...
Plus it's a nice tribute to both my grandfathers, who I can still hear them saying that silly word " jalopy"... it makes me smile.
My superheros didn't wear capes.
