It's Railroad Days, Morrow! Today only, 12pm to 10pm, right in the heart of downtown.

Two stages, live music all day long, food, games, and the whole town out on Main Street together. This is the first year it's back and it is going to be a blast. If you needed a reason to get out of the house today, here it is. Come spend the day with us.

While you're downtown, come find Wicksy right in the middle of it all, tucked into The Morrow Arts Center on Miranda Street, Studio 2. When the heat and the crowds get to be a lot, step inside, cool off, and smell your way through the shop. Candles, body care, home goods, all of it made by hand right here in Morrow.

A couple of things waiting for you if you stop in today. We're running Buy 2, Get 1 Free, mix and match across the whole shop, so you can build your own little trio. And we just launched two new fragrances I'm proud of. Coconut at Candlelight is warm and creamy and exactly as cozy as it sounds. Black Out Cherry is the moody one, dark and sweet and a little dramatic. Come smell them both and tell me which one is your favorite.

Happy Saturday, friends!!!

If you have got nowhere to be for a couple hours today, come spend some of it with us. The shop is open and the lights are on, and there is something about a slow Saturday in here that I love. People wander in, start smelling their way through the shop, and twenty minutes later they are telling me about the candle their grandma used to burn or the lotion that reminds them of their high school days. That is the whole reason I do this. Scent has a way of walking you straight back into a memory you forgot you had.

For anyone who has not made it in yet, Wicksy is a lot more than candles. We have got hand and body oils, lotions, perfume and cologne, room and linen sprays, our little hand dipped incense cones, plus the everyday stuff like laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, and all purpose cleaner. All of it small batch, all of it made right here, all of it free of the junk you do not want in your home or on your skin. Come find your scent and we will help you build a whole little world around it.

We are also still running our Sale of the Week, Buy 2 Get 1 Free, mix and match across the whole shop. Grab a candle, a body oil, and a car freshener and let that third one ride along free.

I will be here all day if you want to come say hi. We are open 10 to 6 inside the Morrow Arts Center, and there is a whole building full of other makers and shops to wander through while you are here.

Ever caught a whiff of a scent out of nowhere and got thrown straight into a memory you forgot you had?

Funny enough, that is the whole reason Wicksy exists.

Hi, I'm Nathan. If we haven't met yet, pull up a chair.

I started this shop back in 2021 with a pretty simple idea. Scent is the most nostalgic sense we have. One whiff of something can pull up a memory and drop you right back into it, the feeling, the people, the whole moment. It's tied to memory and emotion in a way nothing else is. I've spent the last few years chasing that and putting it in a jar, so you can go back any time you want.

Folks around here started calling me the local scent scientist, and the name stuck.

Here's what we actually make. Candles and wax melts. Body wash, body oils, lotions, scrubs, and soap. Foaming hand soap, dish soap, and bar soap. Room sprays, car fresheners, and diffuser oils.

Perfumes and colognes. Plus the stuff that runs your whole house, like laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner, and scent boosters. We call it a whole home and body world, because once you find a scent you love, you shouldn't have to leave it at the bathroom door.

Everything is handcrafted in small batches, right here. That's the Wicksy standard. If I wouldn't put it in my own home, it doesn't go on the shelf. So in other words that means no toxins, carcinogens, allergens, parabens, sulfates, or any of that bad gunk.

Now for the fun part.

June is here, and as an LGBTQ+ owned business, we are proud to be a place where everyone in our community feels welcome. That's not a once-a-year thing for us, it's just who we are. To celebrate Pride Month, we're running Buy 2 Get 1 Free, mix and match across the whole shop. Grab a candle, a body wash, and a soap, and the third one is on us. Mix it however you like.

I've also been busy in the back. We just restocked a fresh batch of laundry detergent, body wash, foaming hand soap, perfumes and colognes, and candles. If your favorite was sold out last time, it's probably back on our shelves.

You'll find us at The Morrow Arts Center, 10 Miranda St. in Morrow, Studio 2 on Level 0. The building is something special on its own. It's an old schoolhouse that got a second life as a home for small local businesses, so when you come see us you're walking into a whole little world of makers and shops under one roof. Easy to lose an afternoon in there, in the best way.

I woke up today with that good kind of excited, the kind you get when something fun is about to happen right next door. Tomorrow our neighbors at Strange Records are throwing their Strange Daze Art Festival at the Morrow Arts Center, and if you have never wandered through our building on a day when it is full of people, you are in for a treat.

Saturday (tomorrow) from noon to 7, the place is going to be packed with local artists, makers, and music. We are talking tie dye, beaded bracelets, masks, monsters, prints, all of it made by people from right around here. There will be live music all afternoon and a poet too, plus food and sweets from Updog and Sweet Joy so you can make a whole day of it. Bring a friend, bring the kids, bring whoever needs to get out of the house.

This is the stuff I love most about being part of this little arts community. We are all in here rooting for each other, and when one of us throws open the doors and says come hang out, the whole building lights up. Strange Records has poured real heart into this one, so come show up for them.

Wicksy will be open our regular Saturday hours, 10 to 6, and to join the celebration we are running BOGO 50 percent off all day in the shop. Come grab something for yourself, sniff your way through the shop, then go wander the other shops, festival and support our local crew.

I have to be honest with you all. After losing our account and having to start over, I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought maybe we'd slowly rebuild over the next few months and just hope for the best.

You had other plans.

Almost 1,000 followers in a week. I genuinely don't know what to say other than thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You showed up in a way I didn't expect and it means more than you know.

So if you're new here, hey! I'm Nathan. I own Wicksy, your local scent shop tucked inside the Morrow Arts Center in a repurposed old schoolhouse that somehow perfectly captures everything this brand is about. We handcraft everything in-house, and when I say everything, I mean it. Candles, wax melts, car fresheners, room sprays, body oils, lotions, sugar scrubs, soaps, foaming hand soaps, dish soaps, all-purpose cleaners, laundry detergent, diffuser oils, body wash. If it can smell good, we probably make it.

We are kicking off summer break with BOGO 50% off mix and match in the shop right now, so if you've been meaning to stop in, this week is a great week for it.

We also just recently launched two things I'm really excited about. The first is Black Out Cherry, our newest fragrance. The best way I can describe it is cherry Kool-Aid on a hot summer day when you were eight years old and didn't have a care in the world. It's good. Really good. The second is our liquid body wash line, small batch for now, but more is coming in the next week or so.

About a month ago, Facebook suspended our page without any warning. No explanation, no appeal that went anywhere, just three years of work gone overnight. The product launches you found out about first. The stories from the shop. The scent drops, the behind-the-scenes moments, all of it. 2,000 of you were on the other end of that page and I had no way to reach any of you.

I won't sugarcoat it. That hurt.

I've spent the past month trying to get it back and the honest truth is, it's not coming back. So here I am, starting over, and the only thing that makes that feel less impossible is knowing that the people who showed up for Wicksy the first time might show up again.
