At Walker & Dunlop's Atlanta office, indirect lighting plays a central role in supporting a workplace designed around comfort, flexibility, and connection.

Rather than relying on high-output direct illumination, the lighting strategy uses reflected light to establish balanced ambient conditions throughout the floor. This approach works in tandem with clerestory windows and perimeter glazing, allowing daylight to pe*****te deep into the workspace while maintaining consistent visual conditions throughout the day.

Indirect illumination also reinforces the project's material palette. Warm wood finishes, textured surfaces, and residential-inspired furnishings are revealed through soft luminance gradients that reduce glare and create a more comfortable environment for focused work and collaboration.

The result is a workplace where lighting, daylight, and materiality operate as a coordinated system. Functional performance remains a priority, but the experience feels less like a traditional office and more like a space designed around the people who use it.

Behind the Detail 3: Baylor St Luke's

At Baylor St. Luke’s O’Quinn Medical Tower, flowing, multi-radius ceilings defined the architectural experience. The lighting had to follow every curve flawlessly, with zero field improvisation.
