If you’d like to stop by to see the furniture available for purchase, I’ll be here until about 4pm minus a lunch break at some point. I’ll post more in stories also. The front door will be locked; please knock. I will not negotiate prices. I will not reply to questions on social media about pricing and availability. Most everything was posted yesterday or the day before in stories with prices. I’m working to finish packing and cannot manage social media questions today. Thank you for understanding. There are also free books out front. No books inside the store are available for purchase at this time. Please don’t ask. Again, trying to pack up. Thank you.

Furniture, decor, display units, bookcases (without the books) will be available for purchase as well!

(I may not be able to reply right away to any messages received about furniture, etc. items. First come, first dibs to those able to come into the store. 50% off books and gifts OR priced as marked with pink and green stickers (no additional discounts on those items). Y’all know me. I need to sell stuff but I’m also going to choose to donate to a group in need if you argue with me over pricing or try to bargain down the price. 😉
I’m working to price furniture and fixtures but will not enter into in-the-moment discussions or negations on pricing. What’s not priced today will be priced next weekend. Please don’t ask if you don’t see a price tag on it. Thank you for understanding. We’ll see you soon!

Time is running out! Stop in 12/16 between 10am-4pm for our GOODBYE SALE. 50%-75% off books and gifts. Select furniture and display units will be priced for purchase. The bookstore has accrued substantial debt over the 5 1/2 years we’ve been open and no bump in customer traffic or attention has been able to produce the revenue needed to eliminate the debt. We NEED you to buy your books and gifts from us this holiday more than ever. I WISH I was able to walk away at neutral/break even and even donate the books we can’t sell. We’re not there, unfortunately. Please come out and support however you’re able. There will be free gifts for purchases of $50 or more. No crying is allowed. No sad stories. No “we’ll miss the bookstore”s allowed. Celebrations only! Bring the pups by! Bring the smiles and laughs! Bring the friends and the fam! Bring the reusable bags and fill them with all the gifts you’ll buy! See y’all soon!

It’s gotta go! Join us for our GOODBYE SALE! Do not, however, make me cry. I appreciate your memories but cannot hold space for them at this time. We will celebrate the bookstore! We will laugh!! We’re thrilled to co-host for a virtual author event on December 15th at 6pm! A huge shout out to .wnc for collaborating with us on hosting Eliot AND a huge shout out to for making copies of Eliot’s latest young adult novel available to the first 40 young adults registered for the event! While this is a virtual event, we’re gathering at the bookstore to participate as a group (and manage books). We’ll have snacks and it’s going to be a great time. Eliot is the author of numerous fiction and non-fiction books for young readers, young adults, and adults and is an award winning author (New York Times-bestselling author, has twice been a finalist for the National Book Award for Young People's Literature, received the Stonewall Honor for best LGBTQIA+ teen book, and received the Printz Honor for best young adult book from the ALA).

I know this is going to get harder the closer we come to the end of this chapter for the bookstore. It was an unimaginably difficult decision to close the current brick and mortar location. There have been Saturdays that sweet customers have unintentionally made me cry. And then there was our last poetry open mic in this space on Friday night and read a poem he’d written for/about the bookstore. And I cried. And I also felt seen; felt that the bookstore and what we’ve been striving to accomplish with the bookstore in our community has been seen. Thank you, Kincaid. This will travel with me to pop-ups and any other new chapters for the bookstore (mobile bookstore? something else?) that we open in 2024.
