Nearly done getting young seedlings ready for winter. Feels good and we will miss you, hostas.

Clearance sale: aka Jon doesn’t want to plant these (back) in the dirt this fall.

No shipping available on these. Local pickup only. Claim under this main post! PayPal or other arrangement made with me before Friday noon or I’ll move on to the next customer.

Plant #1: a very pretty gold that will be golder with more sun. I anticipate a large. $15

Plant #2: a beautiful mature streaker with good roots. It’s just looking bedraggled at the end of the season. Was going to auction it off, but it just needs to get back in the soil for a good winter sleep. Blue Suede Shoes is this plant’s grandma (pod parent’s pod parent). $50

Seedlings: 2 partially streaked. 3 solid with interesting color. 5 with some red on the stems. $5 each. 5 for $20. All 10 for $30. I’m keeping the tray.

It’s the Race to Red!

Hostas with red/purple stems tend to bloom later and we have a shorter growing season here (a few blocks away from the Red River of the North).

So along with collecting and freezing pollen, I’m making choiceful crosses with Bloodline, Lemon Snap, Tom Terrific, Vasey’s Here Cones the Sun, and the pictured hybrids.
