Last night my wife and I ate dinner at Amy’s. My wife comes from an Italian community In Niles Ohio. Vernon’s Cafe is some of the finest Italian food you can imagine. Family owned for generations. Only opened 25 hours in a whole week. So every time we try a new Italian Restaurant we compare it to Vernon’s and they fail, but not Amy’s Italian Restaurant. Amy’s is as good as Vernon’s what a find here in Norman. The services was excellent as was the Chicken Marsala and the Chicken Damabianka. If you love Italian Food you must try Amy’s the best we have found in Oklahoma.

Yesterday day I fished two Ladies, Susan and Emma. They are mother , daughter and just Love to fish. I have fished them twice in the last few years. Fishing was tough with the wind and the Bass not wanting to to cooperate, but they stay after it all day. Susan’s goal was to catch a big one. It looked doubtful until the last spot that Emma suggested. Susan put a 5 pounder in the boat. Thank You all so much I enjoyed.

I had the most unbelievable pleasure the last 2 days. I fished 3 Brothers( Link, Mickey and Chris) on Bois D’ Arc Lake in Texas. You can tell how close this family is something you do not see a lot of these days.
These guys talked and laughed about event and people they knew growing up. Man Oh! Man! could these guys

Wednesday and Thursday I fished Steve and Bill 2 half days. Bill lives in Dallas and Steve lives in Edmond. They are both retired geologist. They did worked together at the same company years ago. Steve is half of that might duo Pat and Steve who put a smack down on 74 Smallmouth on lake Murray’s few weeks back. Pat could not make it because of some nonsense about going to Hawaii. Bill has worked all over the World. Bill and Steve are very interesting to listen to of all the places they have been to. Saudi Arabia to South Africa.. Fishing had really slow down, but they did catch 22. Hope we can do it again in the spring.

Last Tuesday I fished Perry and Mickey again on Bois D’ Arc lake. These guys are so much fun to be around they keep me laughing and smiling all day. They drove from Edmond Ok to fish the day . If you recall two weeks ago they destroyed the Bass on Bois D’Arc with a 105 in 2 half days of fishing. This time they want to catch larger bass. I had found some 4s and 5s on the the 2 days of cool down we had, but the warming weather had moved them. Mickey did get one over 5lbs. They did catch 18. Fishing really started to slow down with the temperature going back up and a lot more people on the lake. Looking forward to next time Guy

I fished 2 of my favorite customers on Bois D Arc lake Thursday and Friday. Perry and Micky wanted to fish a half day on both days. These 2 guys have been friends for over 40 years. Their first love is quail hunting and as you can see darn good bass fishermen. They have some of the funniest stories about bird hunting and bird dogs. I enjoy them every time I fish these guys.

Bois D Arc did not disappoint. Thursday on the water at 10:30 and off at 4 with 74 bass in the boat. Biggest about 4lbs. Friday on water at 8:00 off at 1 with 31 bass in the boat. 105 bass in 11 1/2 hours of fishing, to say the least Perry and Micky put a smack down on Bois D Arc Bass. Thanks Guys

Yesterday I was on beautiful Lake Murray with Pat and Steve. These Guys were the first guide trip I did when I first started. Pat and Steve are retired geologist ,very interesting to talk to while fishing. Man ! did they put a beat down on Lake Murray’s Smallmouth. When the days was over the clicker had 74 on it. Yesterday, October 2nd I was on Bois D Arc checking spots for a trip next week. I was there last week and caught 49, but those fish have moved. It was a lot slower with the heat coming back. But I did catch my Personal Best for this Lake, 8-2 . Interesting fact on October 2 2012 I caught Eufaula Ok official Lake record 11-14. If that Bois D Arc Bass would have been 1 lbs and 1 oz bigger it would have been a new lake record for Bois D Arc. I did check it on 2 different scales and both were the same, 8-2. Next Spring that bass will be 10 plus easy.

On Wednesday, I fished two great guys, John and Pat. I have fished Pat several times before in the pass , but this was the first time for John. We were on Beautiful Lake Murray and let say it did not let us down. These guys put a beat down on the Smallmouth and a few Largemouth.

On September 18 I fished Donnie E. On Beautiful Lake Murray. Donnie is a retired Navy Veteran. Donnie is trying learn everything about Bass Fishing. What a pleasure it was for me to introduced him to FFS(Forward Facing Sonar). That being said. I use it on some lakes and some I do not. It all depends on what time of year it is.

We were targeting smallmouth . This time of the year on Murray. The Smallmouth are in Wolfpacks right now.It might be 4 or a pack of 60.But as you can see we had a very Special Surprise ,6-4.

Here is a trick I have been using on these Murray Smallmouth. When you hooked one Smallmouth in a school the others will follow him back to the boat and hang around for a couple of minutes. You can drop a flat worm on a drop shot rig and catch another one. The only problem with that after that one is you have to hurry and re- rig, get the weight untwisted, because of all the jumping they done. Drop back down and hope the school is still fired up.

Try this, instead of a drop shot use a 3/16 oz jig head and a 3 1/2 inch grub in white ice. Drop it down and 8 out of 10 time it will never hit the bottom. If not pump it up and let fall. You can catch over half the school using this method
