Give & Take: Remembering Riley🌈
Our kennel volunteers and staff suffered a heartbreaking loss recently with the passing of former long-time kennel dog, Riley. While we find solace in the fact that he was in a FURever home, finally, where he was loved and cherished, we are devastated for ourselves and Riley’s adopter. Riley was not an easy placement and needed an understanding and patient home. His adopter, Naomi, worked with him for over a year to help ensure his success and went above & beyond for a dog that everyone else before them had failed. She opened her home to an older and more challenging dog and gave her everything to him. We could not have wished for a better home for our beloved boy—we only wish that they found each other sooner. Rest in peace, Riley, you are so very loved. 💙🐾🌈
THIS IS RESCUE, a constant give & take. While we celebrate each victory, like placing a “hard-to-place” dog like Riley in the perfect home after SEVEN long years, we know that at some point, we will have to grapple with what is taken from us. But that doesn’t stop us one bit. This , 11/28, please donate and help us continue our work, with both the “easy” and “hard” placements. Because they all need the same amount of love.
