The behind - the - scenes of being a product maker sometimes isn't the prettiest, but so worth it anytime ingredients come from your labor of love, and let me tell you, this was definitely labor!

Glad my mini isn't squeemish and wanted to help sort through and peel off excess fascia! She said it looked like spider webs 🕸️, which is a spot on representation!

From the massage side of me, this was absolutely fascinating to see and feel! Some of the bigger chunks of suet, once you got into them, were actually a bunch of smaller pieces, all neatly wrapped and bound by this connective layer. From the maker side of me, definitely not so much fun as it was very tedious and time consuming work 😮‍💨

We'll be rendering down our first batch of tallow tonight and I can't wait to start making products out of it!
