Various masks I made while recuperating from surgery. The one with the beads hanging down across the mouth is made from a silver plate tray. If you look carefully, you an see a floral motif etched into the tray. I've used copper foil to create texture and pattern on the base mask. Alcohol ink gives vibrant color around one eye and on the teardrop shapes applied to the points making a sort of crown. This is a feminine piece, recalling the legendary warrior Boudica, with its Celtic design. The teardrop shapes in the points of the crown are made from copper foil, then tinted with alcohol ink. Labradorite cabochons wrapped in copper foil decorate the teardrops. Peacock and exotic pheasant feathers create the ruff.
