A little over 20 years ago I got word that Chet Karnas was looking to sell his retail shipping business. At the age of 25, I knew absolutely nothing about running a business (I didn’t even know what retail shipping was Lol), but it seemed like a good opportunity so I said, “I’ll buy it!”
I had no money and no experience, but I went for it.
Walking into the bank at 25 asking for a significant amount of money to buy a business, with no money or experience, was quite challenging 🙃.
However, with the help of family and friends (Peter,Rose, Carol, Ilona and Joe) on November 5, 2002, I became the proud owner of Montclair Shipping Plus.
It has been an interesting 20 years and many times I thought it would be easier to sell, but REPEATEDLY, God reminded me that it was His gift to me and not something that I should just walk away from.
This post is to acknowledge the people in my village who have helped, supported and encouraged me and Montclair Shipping for the past 20 years.
I’m grateful for all my customers, I’m grateful for all of my employees and I am grateful for all of my family and friends that help on the homefront when I have to be at the store.
This post should also be an encouragement to anyone who is considering stepping out of their comfort zone for an opportunity.
You never know unless you try!
As long as you work hard, stay focused and pray, the blessings will be abundant.
