It is not a Judaica Store, rather it is a Safrus Office. This difference is critical when it comes to ensuring that you have a quality item that suits your particular needs. Many Judaica Stores offer one stop convenience; they sell many items including, menorahs , books, keychains, Mezuzos and the like. Unfortunately, they may also employ sales people who are not knowledgeable as to the subtle di

fferences in the different Ksavim (Styles of handwriting) and levels of Hidurim (varying standards). Moreover, the source of the Ksav (handwriting) may not be known; can the sales clerk verify that Sofer/Scribe is a Yirei Shomaim (G-D Fearing Jew)? The Sofer Center is different. I exclusively sell Mezuzos, Tefillin, Megillos and Sifrei Torah. And either I wrote them myself, or I know who the Sofer is. Moreover, I am very well versed as to the subtle differences in the different Ksavim and levels of Hidurim, and how it should be geared to your customs. At the Sofer Center, each item is unique and special; you won’t find any barcodes here! Tefillin and Mezuzos are an important investment, and it is vital that it is written correctly.Kosher Tefillin are a conduit for G-ds blessings and your family’s protection and safety comes through the Kosher Mezuzos you have in your home. When it comes to such matters, place your trust in an expert Sofer/scribe. Buy your menorahs, and books from the Judaicia store. In addition to selling, I check Mezuzos, Tefillin, Megillos and Sifrei Torah, and when necessary, I repair and restore them according to Halachah.

With all this rain we are getting it's the perfect time to repost

The pictures on the top row are of Mezuzos that were outdoors and not in waterproof covers. These Mezuzos got water-damaged, the letters are broken and have fallen off. Obviously these Mezuzos are no longer Kosher.

Our Mezuzos can't protect us if we don't protect them.

Check your outdoor Mezuzah covers to ensure that they are in proper waterproof covers. If the back comes off (see image bottom left) or the bottom is a screw cork chances are it they are not waterproof. Most wood covers (that are a solid piece) are water resistant however, after some time water will start seeping through.

A proper waterproof cover is a solid piece of plastic, the back can not come off and the only opening is on the bottom which is sealed with a fitted rubber cork. (see image on the bottom right).
