The floors are finally starting to come together! 🔨

This week we wrapped up our last major demolition project by finishing the remaining section of the old dance floor and removing the upstairs hallway floor tiles.

We also replaced the subfloor behind the first-floor bar and had the first-floor wood floors sanded. After months of demo, it’s exciting to finally see things start to look like a finished space!

Episode 18 of Building Archers is LIVE! 🪵

The demolition phase is finally coming to an end… and this week we completed our last major demo project!

The floors took center stage as we tackled the final section of the old dance floor, replaced the first-floor bar subfloor, and got the flooring downstairs sanded.

After months of tearing things apart, this was a huge milestone for us. We’re finally moving past demolition and starting to rebuild the space into what will become Archer’s.

Thank you for following along as we continue this journey. We’re just getting started, and there’s still so much more to come!

I spent part of the day doing one of the less glamorous renovation jobs... counting boxes. 😂

Our first furniture deliveries finally showed up, so I was making sure everything we ordered actually made it here. Thankfully, no mystery missing boxes (at least not yet).

It’s exciting seeing the pieces that will eventually pull this building together start showing up!

We're finally starting to turn a corner. 🙌

This week brought exciting deliveries, extra helping hands, and a lot of progress behind the scenes. From running the network cables that will power our WiFi and security cameras to finishing the bathroom partitions and making progress on the floors, it finally feels like we're building instead of just tearing things apart.

Episode 17 is live! 🔨📚

This week was a big one as we started seeing more progress on the “building up” side of the renovation.

We had the first furniture pieces for the bookstore arrive, finished painting the bathroom partitions, and brought in some extra help to tackle one of the biggest behind-the-scenes projects yet: running the network cables for our WiFi and security cameras.

Having extra hands this week made a huge difference and helped us tackle some of the projects that have been taking longer than expected.

It’s exciting to finally feel like we’re moving beyond just tearing things apart and starting to see the pieces of the bookstore come together.

POV: You buy a 7,000-square-foot building and give yourself just 6 months to turn it into your dream bookstore. 😅

When we first got the keys, this place had been sitting untouched for years. Over the last 3.5 months, we've cleared out years of clutter, demolished flooring, removed bars, repaired drywall, started painting, and finally begun bringing our vision to life.

We're officially past the halfway point, and while there's still a lot of work ahead, it's exciting to see this old pub slowly becoming the bookstore we've been dreaming about.
