Removing this TV was easily one of the most engineered projects of the renovation πŸ˜‚

After spending nearly 30 minutes creating a system involving ramps (made from tables), old carpet, and even old cables we screwed into the TV, we were finally ready to get it out of the wall.

As Joel slowly lowered it down, he kept asking if I was clear and out of the way. The only problem? I was standing directly in front of the TV the entire time πŸ˜‚

In my defense, someone had to make sure the plan actually worked.

This week on Building Archers, we continued making progress throughout the building as we chipped away at the finish on the first-floor bar, tackled more drywall repairs, and finally removed the built-in TV on the second floor.

We also had some friends come by to help clear out the broken equipment behind the first-floor bar, opening up even more space as we continue preparing the building for its next chapter.

Every project gets us one step closer to turning this 7,000 sq ft building into the bookstore we've been envisioning.

The renovation rivalry has officially become merch πŸ˜‚

Joel surprised me with Team Joel and Team Alaina work shirts this week, which feels appropriate considering we spend half our renovation days debating how things should be done.

The real question is...

Which side are you on? or ? πŸ‘€

🧁❀️ Help Us Send a Child to Summer Baking Camp ❀️🧁
We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, create, and discover what they are capable of. Our camp is focused on more than baking, it's building confidence, learning teamwork, exploring entrepreneurship and creating memories that will last long after camp is over.

We know families in our community who would love for their children to attend our Kid's baking camp but need a little extra help. That's where our amazing community comes in. Every contribution helps provide ingredients, baking supplies, aprons, educational materials, scholarships, and lunches for our campers.

No Donation is too small. Every dollar creates opportunities for local children right here in Monroe. If you'd like to help sponsor a young baker this summer, please scan the QR code on the flyer or use the link below.

Thank you for helping us invest int he next generation or bakers and entrepreneurs!

Episode 9 is live! πŸ’ͺ🏻

This week, we continued making progress throughout the building by tackling several projects that have been on our to-do list for quite some time.

We kept chipping away at the finish on the first-floor bar, continued drywall repairs throughout the building, and finally removed the built-in TV on the second floor. After taking down TVs for weeks, it felt great to check another one off the list.

We also had some friends come by to help us clear out the broken equipment behind the first-floor bar, opening up even more space as we continue transforming the building.

While some of these projects may not be the most exciting, they are important steps that continue moving us closer to turning this 7,000 sq ft space into the bookstore we've been envisioning.

I’m starting to think Joel has confused "husband" with "personal paparazzi" πŸ˜‚

The second I start working on something, I turn around, and somehow he’s six inches away from my face with a camera. I can’t pull off trim or work in peace without an unexpected close-up making its way into the footage!

Does anyone else have a spouse who doubles as a full-time cameraman, or is this just my life?

This week on Building Archers, we officially entered drywall week as we started repairing and smoothing walls throughout the building.

After weeks of demo work, it finally feels like certain spaces are beginning to come together instead of just being torn apart. Joel focused on repairing the bathroom walls before continuing drywall work throughout the rest of the building to help prepare everything for paint and wallpaper.

We also had AAC Property Restoration come out to repair the roof leak we recently discovered, so we can continue moving forward with renovations.

I binge listened to this story while working at the store yesterday, and WOW. What a fun character and an ending that caught me off guard. It's the perfect read when you're looking for something entertaining and don't want to think too hard.

What book(s) did you finish this weekend?
