After our BIG event this past weekend, I thought that I would share the Social District RULES again. Please understand that while you can walk around town with an alcoholic beverage that you have purchased from a local establishment, you CANNOT walk into another bar with that drink!! You MUST finish it before entering!

No outside alcohol is permitted within the district. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased from establishments located within or contiguous to the district (in specially labeled cups) and must be consumed within the District.

Upon leaving an establishment where an alcoholic beverage is purchased, the beverage must be consumed or discarded before entering a different business that serves alcohol.

No alcoholic beverages may be brought into or consumed within Public facilities

All alcohol in open containers must be disposed of before exiting the District or entering a vehicle.

Please exercise your right to vote!!! This election, as all local elections, is VERY important!! There are people running who want to make it much harder to bring events such as the Union Market Pop-Up , Downtown Monroe NC Pub Crawl etc. Events that local businesses work very hard to host and bring lots of people to downtown Monroe! This brings money to Monroe!! This helps support businesses and their families!!!
There are people running for office, who, if elected want to make this harder for us to do!! Please get to know who you are voting for! Ask them these questions!
Ask them if they are wanting to make it so that current businesses who already sell alcohol will have to now sell a certain percentage of food!!! If so, this could put small businesses out of business! I get we want more restaurants and they are coming! Hey, if you wanna give $150,000.00-$200,000.00 to a business that is already open to help them adda kitchen, I'm sure they would be more than happy to take it! It's not cheap or easy to open a restaurant!
If you want Monroe to continue to THRIVE and you want current businesses to survive, then DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Some running want to make it harder on local businesses- just ask the right questions!

Hey Guys! Beth here, owner of Peddlers Paradise Bartique and co-host of the Union Market Pop-Up!!
East Frank Superette, Southern Range Brewing Co and Franklin Court Grille are hosting the 2nd Annual Monroe-berfest October 7th in Downtown Monroe from 12pm- Midnight. Franklin Street will be closed down with lots of activities going on all day! I am having vendors from 1pm-5pm.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!! The application for the Fall Union Market Pop-Up September 16, 2023 is live on google doc!! Please read it in its entirety!!

We did change two things this year.
1) The time will be from 1:00pm - 7:00pm.
2) We are allowing vendors to sell in 2 categories only.

After the March Pop-Up we heard from many vendors and customers and the #1 complaint was that we had too many vendors selling the same products. Many vendors start out selling one thing, say tumblers. Then they attend an event and see that their neighbor is selling a ton of t-shirts, so they go home and make t-shirt to add to their booth. Next event, they see that their neighbor is killing it with earrings. So they go home that night and start making earrings!! Next thing you know, everyone is selling the same thing!!
We could probably have 10 vendors at this event and we would have everything covered, however, we would like to give as many small businesses the opportunity to sell at this event. Therefore, we are limiting each vendor to 2 categories!!! When filling out the application please choose 2 categories that you would like to bring to the event to sell. If you show up the day of the event with more than 2, you will be asked to put all others in your car.

We are so excited to be offering this show in historic downtown Monroe again! Supporting small businesses such as yours, is our passion. We will work hard at promoting this event in the months prior through social media and other avenues. We have a page created just for this event, as well....
