Dear bicycle assemblers, professional or otherwise: I get it. It’s inglorious; been there. But I urge anyone building a bicycle for another person to ride to pay attention to all of the vitally important details where safety is concerned.
Exhibit 1: The end of the brake cable on a mechanical disc brake should NEVER be able to reach the rotor.
If you need to know why, please stop what you’re doing until you understand the physics.
Please. Pay attention to detail, even if your prick boss is rushing you, your first duty is to the person that will ride that bike you’re building. Your customers lives literally rely on your competence. Do right by them.
