Epic trip to New Zealand! Beautiful place and we have taken some incredible Critters and had an amazing time!

Having been blessed with 3 girls I am doing my part to try to turn them into mighty huntresses! This adventure with my youngest who is 12 years old for her first deer was epic! We spotted a decent 3 point at about 800 yards worked a little closer and used my shooting bags to set up a solid position for her to see if we could make a play on him! She was feeling good about the position and confident she could make the shot when this other buck made his way out and they walked toward each other and started circling a deadfall log and raking brush getting ready to fight. (This was a bad time to forget the phone scope because it would have made some great footage!) She decided to try the big 2 point because he was bigger and a mature buck. She stayed calm and made the shot from 685 yards. I learned a lot about how tough this sweet girl is having heavy loads in our packs and even adding a few hours to our hike back to the side by side getting turned around in the dark! She never complained once and showed tremendous heart and sure made a proud dad moment for me.

RIP Paco! You were the Palamino c**t I dreamed of having some day when I was a kid. Thanks for all the rides! In your 19 years we spent 16 of them on some epic adventures. We shared blood, sweat and tears and made some incredible memories. Breaks my heart to say goodbye! Do me a favor and say hi to pops in the happy hunting grounds for me!
