Sewing 201: Behind the Seams
This past Saturday was my very first time teaching a sewing class—and honestly, it meant everything.
Even though we created something as simple as a tote bag, the intention behind it was so much bigger. I designed this project to be the perfect balance—not too easy, not too overwhelming—so my students could truly understand the foundations of garment making.
We focused on the details that matter: sewing straight, understanding seams, building structure, and thinking through the process from start to finish. Because once you understand why you’re doing something, you can take that skill into anything you make next.
Watching everyone bring their bags to life was the best part. There’s something so powerful about learning a skill with your own hands.
More classes coming soon… 👀
Would you take a Sewing 201 class?
Next class is April 25th!
