The Sorceress is the Bike of the Week. From the Surly website: "Let Sorceress be your guide through steep and gnarly dirt realms; it thrives on flowy, feature-rich singletrack and techy descents.

Sorceress channels our modern trail geometry: a long front center, steep seat tube angle, and slack headtube angle conjure playful riding, stable footing, and efficient climbing (plus the power to levitate). And with maximized standover and room for longer dropper posts, you get less saddle interference and more space to send it."

Come try one out for yourself at Behind Bars Bicycle Shop 208 13th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. We have demo bikes you can take out and shred the trails yourself on an extended trial. (612) 436-0255

To cap off Biking to Work week, we're teaming up with our neighbors over at MBP to bring some people over for a chance to check out their climbing space. They've been gracious enough to offer anybody on the ride a $12 day pass! Yes, we'll being showing up a lil late but they're open until 11pm or 10pm most nights so you can always get a lil climb in after work!

As far as the ride is concerned, we'll be doing a short little river ramble, with (maybe too many) short stops to show off some of 's favorite sunset spots in our own little corner of MPLS.

Think about those little paths off to the side of the trail you've always been curious about!

Meet at @ 7pm, rolling out at ~7:20, planning on being at MBP by 8-8:20.

There's also next door, and plenty of maybe new-to-you Mississippi spots to hang out at otherwise!

No matter what, enjoy your bike, yourself, your hobby, and your neighbors (except that one).

We hope to see you on Friday!

Description:
This bicycle ride centers around Rice Creek in the Northeast suburbs of Minneapolis. The route starts by climbing into the hills of Columbia Heights before cruising along some county roads. It heads down a lonely gravel road adjacent to the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills, an abandoned World War II era facility that has become a favorite among local explorers and graffiti artists.

The route snakes its way through the Rice Creek Trail corridor, hitting some dirt and gravel along the way. The trail designers did their best to thread the needle through a dense landscape of properties, waterways, and railroads. As a result, the trail has some tight corners and awkward intersections. Stay alert and stay on route. The ride ends with a serene cruise along the Mississippi River.

Rules of the Ride:
- Respect other road and trail users. Give space and an audible signal when passing.
- Communicate with your fellow riders. Call out obstacles, turns, and other trail users. Use audible and visual signals.
- Respect each other. No racist, homophobic, transphobic, or disrespectful behavior allowed.
