fight (verb): to contend in any manner; strive vigorously for or against something

At the core of who we are, is the belief that business should never be about just profits. Every business should fight for something, ANYTHING, that matters. At Fight For Something, we create brands and businesses that do just that... They fight for something. We are the company behind: The VOICE Community, Northern Glasses, and A Stranger Like Me.

Slightly unorthodox method of bringing on investors… but lots of things about us are unorthodox.

We’re getting ready for the next expansion of our company and are bringing on investors for the first time. If investing with us is of interest to you, don’t hesitate to reach out. This next investment is focused on real estate and the custom printing industry.

Note: Only considering investors from within our relational circles at this time.

Well here is a tough one to write… but we’re wrapping up the Northern Lights Festival early.

We set out with big big dreams: Build a magical indoor light park for the holidays, and use it to build a scholarship for refugees to go to college.

The thing about swinging the bat at big big dreams, is sometimes you miss. But better to swing and miss than to never step up to the plate.

No need for sympathy. The real reason I’m sharing is because I think the internet has warped entrepreneurship to a bunch of privileged folks celebrating their successes and pretending like there aren’t failures. It’s okay to fail. It’s painful, but it’s important.

The short version of why we’re closing is because we can’t deliver the quality of experience that we set out to build.

While it’s tough to publicly fail… I can honestly say I’d do it all over again.

Through 18 months of trying to get this going, I got a first hand glimpse of some of the best in people.

I got to see corporations that I have all of the respect in the world for embody character up close: Schuler Shoes and Merrell. They carry themselves with grace, intention, and generosity in ways that I’m better for having witnessed and hope to emulate at .

While the event itself didn’t take off like we hoped, I learned more than I could write. I’m learning that it’s possible to be immensely proud of having taken a shot at something of this size (I believe the word for it is cajones). And at the same time be able to be honest about failure. And to hold those at the same time.

IG’s caption limit will keep me from naming everyone I want to thank. Mostly my wife Steph, who always stands in the unknown of these big dreams with me.

This one may not have been the home run I hoped, but I promise to keep swinging. For now, I’m going to focus on building the best screen printing, coffee roasting, and holiday pop up markets that I can. And more importantly, focus on getting in some family & friend time that was given up while building this. Who knows… I might even 😴?

PS - North America’s largest inflatable igloo is for sale. 🏃‍♂️, don’t walk.

Thanks to KTTC TV and Midwest Access for having us on to talk about the Northern Lights Festival!

The North’s Largest Indoor Light Park is making its home at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Drawing its inspiration from the wintery North, the Northern Lights Festival is Minnesota’s newest holiday experience and will be open Fridays-Sundays from December 2-18, 2022.

Asking us to pick which of our companies is our fav is like asking a mom to pick her favorite child.

That being said... We wouldn’t trade anything for the number of small businesses we’ve gotten to call our friends through our printing business at Custom + Kind.

Got to take some time to chat with the folks over at Voyage Minnesota Magazine... Thanks for the feature!

When we started our company 6 years ago, we had no idea how much we'd learn to fall in love with small businesses and all of their grit and dedication. Not exaggerating when we say, there might not be anything as satisfying as watching good people in the small business world win and grow.

The small business journey has taken us down all sorts of winding roads, from screenprinting, to event planning and more.

The most recent growing arm of our business: Web-development.

From our own experience getting up and running building brands in the world of e-commerce, we realized what a headache and how unaffordable a lot of different options are for small businesses wanting to build a web presence and store.

Over the last few years we've gotten websites up and running for e-commerce brands, non-profits, events, and more.

If we can help, don't hesitate to reach out.

Just using all of our brands to interrupt your scrolling with some unsolicited advice... The absolute best use of your finances this season, and in every season... is to give recklessly.

We're yet to meet someone with regret over being too generous 🤷‍♂️

Find a non-profit worth investing in, a server to unload an exorbitant tip upon, a small business to sink your dollars into, or a family just needing some support. Give recklessly and come let us know if you regret it.

Hoping everyone is finding the time to soak in the holiday season with those they love.

We have the freaking best people in our circle. Thanks to everyone who came out to one of our MN Christmas Markets this year. Still tallying the final numbers, but it looks like the events kept over $294k with local businesses and allowed us to donate over $20k to The Reel Hope Project. You all make this possible, so to our vendors and our guests and our venues... Thank you!

Extra shoutout to our co-founder on these markets, Becky Sturm. You are the best and these couldn't happen without you.

PS - We suppose I'll throw this out there now, because why not... But if any businesses or individual out there are passionate about refugees and/or education and are looking for a way to have some impact next year, let us know. Can't say too much about it now, but we're already excited about the investment of next year's events.

What it fights for: Kids What sets it apart: The MN Christmas Market is an annual pop-up holiday shopping event that showcases homegrown brands and makers, with a charitable twist. All vendors donate 7% of sales from the event to local charities that fight for kids in the Twin Cities. Don't want to....
