Self care Sunday for 7/16. Two cards came out today, Connect with Crystals and Massage.

If it is within your budget, book a massage for self care. Massages are vital because most of us live with some discomfort in our bodies. If it's not in the budget and you have a partner, make it a date night swapping massage for some pampered connection. If you are solo, create an inviting space with aromatherapy and peaceful music and massage your feet, neck and lower back as you are able.

Crystals can attract, absorb or repel energies. If you don't work with them already, research what it is you are wanting in your life. Self love? Get some rose quartz and meditate with it. Is your throat chakra blocked and you struggle with expressing boundaries? Wear a labradorite or lais lazuli necklace. You can sleep with crystals under your pillow, carry them in your pocket during the day or place them around your tub during a ritual bath. The ideas are endless.

Day 10 of the Mindfulness Challenge: Change Your Language.

Today (and ideally from this moment on) take notice of your language. Think of the words you say, out loud but even more importantly internally, as food. You want to feed your subconscious healthy words.

If you spend any time learning about manifestation, you learn like attracts like. What you focus on, grows. If you want more positivity in your life, you need to change up your dialogue. This isn't about toxic positivity, being fake or pretending life is always rosy. It truly is about a shift in your mindset.

For instance instead of apologizing for being late, thank the person for waiting for you. Instead of saying you can't afford something, say it's not a priority-or even better, ask yourself "how can I afford this"? Try to swap out the negative words (can't, shouldn't etc) for a more positive shifted mindset.

Start feeding your mind with positive words and watch how your emotions, actions and outcomes follow suit.

Day 5 of Mindfulness Challenge: Just One Breath

At any time during the day, take a moment to focus on your breath. Breathe in for a count of 4, hold for 2-4 seconds, then breathe out for a count of 4.

Focus on the air filling your lungs and then being released. Simply focus on the breath.

You're not looking for a revelation during this; rather think of it as a mental push up for your mind. Training yourself to do this is the basis of meditation and a technique to rely on during high anxiety.

July mindfulness challenge day 3: Secret Virtue

Today, do something nice for someone else but do it anonymously. It can be as simple as washing the dishes someone else left in the sink, leaving a candybar on a coworkers desk, or paying for a future coffee order at Starbucks.

Although this act will bring joy to someone else, being mindful of committing acts of kindness for others is sure to bring peace and joy to your own day.

Get in touch with someone who has had a positive impact on your life and thank them.

It doesn't need to be a long or emotional message. Just a simple thank you and the reasons behind your gratitude can mean the world to the person receiving your gratitude.

Sleep is an integral part of self-care as it helps maintain your health and energy.
Rest outside of nightly sleep is also important but today's focus is about sleep. Ready yourself for a night of restful sleep by making your bedroom an oasis. Calm your nervous system with some light stretching or meditation, or try some herbal tea or a magnesium drink.

Creating a bedtime routine is not only a luxurious way to end your day, but the habits become muscle memory for your body and aid in helping you to wind down easier over time.

Personally this is extra fitting this week, because while I do regularly journal most days, I've been meaning to begin morning pages as an update to my current journaling practice.
